New scent coming from Sol de Janeiro 

• Rosa Charmosa Dewy Cream and Cherisosa 91 Perfume Mist said to be available through brand site, Sephora & Sephora at Kohl's on 12.17. May be available for early access via Sephora app (but not yet confirmed).
• Key notes (per brand):  Rio Pink Rose, passionfruit, and honey caramel

So, just after a couple of wears:

• Initial wear (of the Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 91 Rosa Charmosa Body & Hair Perfume Mist😞 the passionfruit was really the only thing that came through on me, with some rose notes, very, very, faint, detected briefly after the initial spritz. I didn't pick up the honey caramel in the way that caramel comes through on me in other SdJ scents but it seems like it may soften the passionfruit and rose notes
• Second wear (of the mist): rose scent is more prominent but not in an in-your-face, I'm-a-rose-perfume sort of way. It's floral and you can make out that it is a rose scent, but it's light. I wouldn't say it's a skin scent on me but you do have to be fairly close to me to smell it. 
• Longevity of the mist wasn't too bad but the Sol de Janeiro Rosa Charmosa™ Dewy Body Cream with Rosewater + Crystal Peptides lasts longer, which is par for the course for me with SdJ fragrances. The scent on the body cream for this one is not as strong as the scent on other SdJ body creams - could be that this scent on me in general just wears more sof
• Body cream: I get more of the warmth from the honey caramel in the body cream than I have picked up in the mist; again, it's on the mild side - in general and definitely in comparison with other SdJ fragrances. It definitely doesn't come across as strongly as other SdJ fragrances, which may not be for everyone, but I like it.

@itsfi I tested this in store last week and I have to say... not for me.  I found the fragrance to be VERY light in comparison to other body sprays from the brand.  It was hard to smell anything at all, and what I could smell was only floral notes. I have plenty of other SDJ scents that I enjoy so I'm not too heartbroken.  Now what is heartbreaking is the way SDJ still hasn't shipped the 67's I ordered for Christmas gifts on the 13th.  Lesson learned on ordering from their website for sure.

Yeah, this is definitely not going to be for everyone @missjeanie, especially those expecting something similar to other SdJ style fragrances. I heard someone say this was similar to Diptyque Eau Rose, which is one of my favorite rose scents, but to me, it is not. Oh yes, I've had some interesting experiences with purchasing from some brands directly this holiday season, even with ones I purchased earlier in the season. Lots of lessons learned.

@itsfi I'm not a big fan of rose usually but I want to smell it. Maybe the honey caramel will make it work.

On me, the rose notes are among the softest I've smelled but how scent comes across to a person depends on so many things, including something as unique as body chemistry. I will say that this is a much more mild scent, in terms of intensity and projection, than other SdJ fragrances I have and have smelled @makeitup305. Not sure if that's just me, this particular fragrance or the season/climate here; or some combination of those factors.

@itsfi I didn't get a heavy rose scent either. I liked it. I also found that it had good staying power on me. Not a purchase for me but a safe one to suggest for someone looking for a fresh fruity floral scent

@itsfi  interesting! 🤔 I like rose scents in general...but gourmand scents I am more picky about. I would be interested to smell this one, I'm super curious to know what it's like!

I didn't find it overly gourmand on me, but how notes come through is very personal. Would be interested to hear what you think of it if you get a chance to try it out in store @caitbird.

Same @missjeanie; at first, I thought it was that there were not many rose gourmand scents around but that is not the case, as evidenced by all the things I found when I did some more digging. 😍 I stand corrected, lol. This particular combination is intriguing. If you get a chance to give it the good ol' sniff test, I'd be interested in your take on it.

Where to begin @danielledanielle? One of the notes is honey caramel - that's got to at least pique the interest of someone who is or has been into gourmand scents, right? I know there will be a few BIC'ers interested in the floral gourmand profile and, as @CookieGirl1 mentioned, the scent profile is different than what we're more accustomed to seeing from SdJ.

I'm interested in seeing how the different notes blend together and also, what, if anything sets the scent of the Rio pink rose from other rose scents found in fragrances.

@itsfi  I am 👀 those lip butters/balms/masks, but trying to remind myself that I have sooo many lip balms and the like right now 😅 still will be curious to see reviews, and maybe swatch in store (for future reference, of course 🤣)

Yes, same @missjeanie. A little surprised that  the description didn’t specifically mention any floral notes or Lily of the Valley pictured in the promo pics. 🤔 The timing of the release is interesting, as it looks and sounds like more of something I’d associate with a warm weather scent, but I do think you can and should wear what scent you like in what season you like to wear it. I’ll want to test it out in store. And probably swatch the lip butters, though I’ve seen some swatches online. See, missjeanie, I am more discerning with my purchases; well, a little more so 🤣 At least initially. 😉

@itsfi I also thought it sounded like a spring summer scent.  I'm not mad at that... I like a lighter fragrance sometimes in the winter as well.  I think I'm just so obsessed with gourmands the last few weeks I was thrown a bit by the release timing of a fragrance that made me think of an early 90s cucumber melon body mist.  

I'm sure I'll certainly swatch the new lip products as well.  Holding out until I swatch though! Stay strong!

Patrick Ta is adding lip balms to his collection. 6 shades (5 tinted balms, 1 clear balm) in initial launch. 

ETA: Said to launch December 13 on Patrick Ta website and Sephora. (source: Project Vanity) Sephora *may* have early access the day before via its app. I have no confirmation of this but we may see more information about these balms if the product page is uploaded early.
