Welcome to Year 7 of our Pan It! Challenge
The "Rules"
To accommodate a variety of interests, you all are encouraged to pick items to pan that are most suitable to your collections. For some, this might mean focusing on a particular type of product (like lipstick) and for others this may include a larger variety spanning your entire makeup or skincare routine.
Getting Started (please share the following)
Please Use This Thread To...
Tips and Tricks to Panning/Getting Some Use Out of Your Stash:
Ideas to Help You Pan Those Items:
Past Panning Challenges:
3X a week is great @faeriegirl some weeks I don't even wear makeup 3X. You'll do awesome this month.
At least 3x per week is great @faeriegirl! It's surprising how quickly we can go through product if we're consistent and you have been!
@faeriegirl Any use is better than none!! You'll ge there!
I've done so well at using my products I included in the project pan I am going to go ahead and pitch the ILIA True Skin Medium Coverage Serum Foundation with Niacinamide I've used it many many times and I have others that need love now
January Update
Monthly Summary: I was able to use every product at least once per week this month, and a few items with even more frequency. 😊
January All Star(s): Westman Atelier Lip Suede Lipstick Palette Les Nudes - that second shade has been working well as a de facto lip primer.
Next Month’s Focus: I’m not sure about the Fable & Mane HoliRoots™ Pre-Wash Scalp & Hair Treatment Oil. I think I’m using too much. Am going to play around with the dosage in February. For those who incorporate this (or any pre-wash hair oil, for that matter) in your regular hair care routine, any tips & tricks?
The key for these two will definitely be finding a good routine for them.
The Pan It! Challenges have historically been good for my hair care routine, and while it's still early days, I'm not so sure about the Fable & Mane pre-wash hair oil.
Really enjoying these items. The Hanni mist is great for hydration right out of the shower.
This supports the theory that it may take time to hit pan but that once you do, expanding that pan comes at a lot quicker clip.
Going to take inspiration from the Little Engine That Could with the shades prairie and tone - "I think I can, I think I can!" This may be a long year for the last of these shadows to hit pan.
And there we have it - one month down, 11 to go. We got this, panning pals! 👊
@itsfi Oh I admire your dedication 😀. My hair is changing as I age. My scalp is still oily enough and I tried Fable and Mane also. I didn’t like it. My hair felt to oily. And it’s hard to wash it out. I tried it on my ends but I didn’t care for it at all. Maybe I am too heavy handed using too much. I try these hair oils hoping one will be right for me. So far I’ve only been able to use a small amount of Verb Ghost hair oil on my ends after blow drying.
Awww, thanks so much @Cissy63! Yeah, I hear ya; I had a very similar initial experience with the Fable & Mane Mini HoliRoots™ Pre-Wash Treatment Oil for Thinning Hair 0.48/14.4ml After discussing here with @Mellmars1185 and @missjeanie, and after a couple of test runs, I think I’ve found what works for my hair with this pre-wash treatment -
This has worked for me - my hair feels soft and light. There’s no film, residue or greasy or oily feeling. And the product is out of my hair after shampooing. 👍🏼 My preference is to keep it in my hair for 60-90 minutes but I’ve kept it in longer and it’s been okay. I haven’t tried it leaving it in my hair overnight again, even with the reduced amount of product.
Maybe try changing up the amount of product you use and the length of time left in your hair. Highly recommend rinsing it out with a clarifying pr detox shampoo. That’s worked beautifully for me. If you come up with a good approach for it, please do let us know. This one took some work to figure out how to best use it for my hair and scalp type.
@itsfi Thank you! I'm going to give this a try. I have the Ouai clarifying shampoo so I'll try it with that. I was confused at Virtual Sephoria when the owners were explaining how to use it.
@Cissy63, my hairstylist told me he leaves it on overnight. I tried that and nope, not for me or my fine hair. I’m wondering if leaving it on overnight works better for folks with thicker hair and/or drier scalp. In any event, definitely try rinsing it out with a detox shampoo. That’s worked wonders!
@itsfi I am happy you were able to make it work for you! It sounds like you have some great habit stacking going on! Ok, that scalp thingy is too cute!! @Cissy63 - I would love to hear if any of the techniques mentioned work for you. @missjeanie and itsfi have some great suggestions.
Lol, I feel like I accomplished something with “habit stacking” @Mellmars1185! I’m so glad folks here mentioned using a detox shampoo. Goes to show again how great this Community is and how there are such tips & tricks from folks here. I probably would have just given up on the Fable & Mane otherwise. omg, the scalp thingy is adorbs. I confess I purchased it for how cute it looked and that it was named “thingy”. Even more cuteness! 😊
@Mellmars1185 Yes! I'm going to give it a try. I have the Briogeo scalp Thingy 🙂
@Mellmars1185 Habit Stacking... I'm going to steal that!!
@missjeanie @Mellmars1185, maybe it’s because it’s Girl Scouts Cookie season but I feel like “habit stacking” is something one can earn a merit badge for. 😆
