Hey all you cool cats and kittens, welcome to YEAR 6 of the Pan It Challenge!

The "Rules"

To accommodate a variety of interests, you all are encouraged to pick items to pan that are most suitable to your collections.  For some, this might mean focusing on a particular type of product (like lipstick) and for others this may include a larger variety spanning your entire makeup or skincare routine.

Getting Started (please share the following)

• Which item(s) you would like to work on
• How long you will work on said item
• Goal: explore a new item, revisit an old item, decide whether to keep pass or trash, and/or completely finish item, etc.
• Starting photo of item

Please Use This Thread To...

• share what item(s) you are working on,
• provide comparative progress photos of your item(s) monthly (at the beginning of the month when possible),
• ask questions,
• encourage others,
• motivate others with the looks you create with your item(s)

Tips and Tricks to Panning/Getting Some Use Out of Your Stash:

• Take photos!!  When you think you aren’t making a dent in anything look back at those photos, I’m certain you’ll see some changes 😃 *this is the number one recommendation for everyone, regardless of how long you’ve been panning! Those photos add up and can help you realize progress you might otherwise overlook.
• If you goal is to hit pan or use something up entirely, try concentrating your brush/applicator in the same area each time you use it
• Multitask your products: eyeshadows as highlighter, lipstick as blush, eyeshadow as brow powder, etc. 
• Layer eyeshadow to create different colors (this is especially helpful to get use out of shades you’re not fond of).
• Have shadows with a ton of fall out?  Use water
• Watching the progress of others’ can be fun but try not compare your progress to theirs.  We all use our makeup differently and have different goals.
• Don’t restrict yourself to only using the item(s) you are working on.  It’s more than OK to incorporate other items or take a break!
• Makeup should be fun….if you begin to dread doing your makeup because you made a commitment to use a product that you now hate, TOSS IT!  Do not force yourself to use up something you don’t like.  Move on to something else!  (This includes excluding particular shades from your goals if focusing on palettes, etc.)

Ideas to Help You Pan Those Items:

• Roll the dice: number your items and use a random number generator to pick what you will use each (day/week/month/etc.) 
• Layer/Mask: items you are less fond of under things you like
• Pan a Look: at the beginning of the week pick a look that you can wear everyday
• Recreate: a look worn by a fellow BICer, celebrity, etc.
• Spice up an "everyday" look by adding subtle pops of color (in the crease or on the lower lash line, mix lip products to make shades wearable, etc.)

@lmaster great project! i had a mini of that becca gloss and i remember really liking the vanilla scent and how it shimmered. that huda balm is one of my fave balms at the moment too! it layers nicely on a lip product too for days where you just need a little bit of shine 🙂

Wooo year 6!! So exciting! I'm carrying on with same lofty goals as last year...and previous years eek. Use every shade of eye shadow at least once and work on my stash. Last year I fell short of my goal, and it's even bigger this year! That's ok though, as long as I try. 

For this year I have-  960+ in inventory spanned out into 22 categories. Not all categories have goals, like eyeliners I just want to use them. My total goals between categories is to use 181. I of course have them all photographed, I won't bog the thread with all those photos, but should I completely use everything in an image I'll share that. 

I'm also going to continue to work on these two shades. I use these at my job most of the time. Sometimes I'm too tired or it's too hot lol. I do not think these will be finished by the year end, but should they be I will be moving on to other shades in the palette/quad. 

My use every shade project I completed 11 palettes last year. Not good! Which leaves me with 23 to still test out, and singles.

I saw a thumbnail of your palette pics on the main Community page and thought "@Samtian!!" and hightailed it here to see what we're working on this year and ... ooooh!!!! How much fun is it going to be to go through your beauty collection?!!! So fun! Your panning goals are impressive and I'm all prepared to witness the incredible success you will have! 😊

Ummm, you used every shade in 11 palettes?!! How is that "not good"?! That's amazing, Samtian! I focused on one palette last year and didn't use every shade in it. You used every shade in nearly half your palette collection. Iff that's "not good", I and others are at an epic fail! Those are phenomenal stats you put up Samtian. 👍

@itsfi Awe thank you so much! I started my project in Dec. of 2018, so it's taken a long time to get to this point. I should be done after 2 years finally! Unless I get a bunch more palettes lol. 2 years in a row I had 17 each year. But oh well, it's fun to see the progress and finally knowing I'm closer to done then when I started. I went back and it's actually only 10 this year, working on the 11th lol.

I am mostly trying to finish off a large supply of samples, testers and minis that I've been accumulating and not using. 

It's hard justify new purchases when I have so many things to try and finish ‌‌😅‌‌

I think because so many are smaller, once I commit to using them, I'll get through them finally! I have a good size bag of these (and more to replace them with as I go) but I'm so excited to use these and make some headway.  

I picked out ones I really wanted to use to start off the pan it challenge,

(And a few masks,a hair oil and spray, a few serums and a lip gloss that have been hanging out for far too long)

I have more house cleaning to do but I didn't want to go to crazy or overwhelm myself.
