Hey all you cool cats and kittens, welcome to YEAR 6 of the Pan It Challenge!

The "Rules"

To accommodate a variety of interests, you all are encouraged to pick items to pan that are most suitable to your collections.  For some, this might mean focusing on a particular type of product (like lipstick) and for others this may include a larger variety spanning your entire makeup or skincare routine.

Getting Started (please share the following)

• Which item(s) you would like to work on
• How long you will work on said item
• Goal: explore a new item, revisit an old item, decide whether to keep pass or trash, and/or completely finish item, etc.
• Starting photo of item

Please Use This Thread To...

• share what item(s) you are working on,
• provide comparative progress photos of your item(s) monthly (at the beginning of the month when possible),
• ask questions,
• encourage others,
• motivate others with the looks you create with your item(s)

Tips and Tricks to Panning/Getting Some Use Out of Your Stash:

• Take photos!!  When you think you aren’t making a dent in anything look back at those photos, I’m certain you’ll see some changes 😃 *this is the number one recommendation for everyone, regardless of how long you’ve been panning! Those photos add up and can help you realize progress you might otherwise overlook.
• If you goal is to hit pan or use something up entirely, try concentrating your brush/applicator in the same area each time you use it
• Multitask your products: eyeshadows as highlighter, lipstick as blush, eyeshadow as brow powder, etc. 
• Layer eyeshadow to create different colors (this is especially helpful to get use out of shades you’re not fond of).
• Have shadows with a ton of fall out?  Use water
• Watching the progress of others’ can be fun but try not compare your progress to theirs.  We all use our makeup differently and have different goals.
• Don’t restrict yourself to only using the item(s) you are working on.  It’s more than OK to incorporate other items or take a break!
• Makeup should be fun….if you begin to dread doing your makeup because you made a commitment to use a product that you now hate, TOSS IT!  Do not force yourself to use up something you don’t like.  Move on to something else!  (This includes excluding particular shades from your goals if focusing on palettes, etc.)

Ideas to Help You Pan Those Items:

• Roll the dice: number your items and use a random number generator to pick what you will use each (day/week/month/etc.) 
• Layer/Mask: items you are less fond of under things you like
• Pan a Look: at the beginning of the week pick a look that you can wear everyday
• Recreate: a look worn by a fellow BICer, celebrity, etc.
• Spice up an "everyday" look by adding subtle pops of color (in the crease or on the lower lash line, mix lip products to make shades wearable, etc.)

Project Pan 2023

Bronzers

Both gratis from the lovely, @TeamBIC. Want to pan these, using the MUBM mostly in the winter and Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Cream Highlighter Peau de Soleil in the summer.

And I will finish this one *shakes hands at ceiling.*  Lise Watier Havana Bronzing Powder Havana mini.

Blushes 

I want to hit a pan in one shade of the two Sephora Clean Blush I haves (once again, thank you for the gratis, Team BIC!!). 

I would like to finish the ILIA Color Haze Multi-Use Pigment Before Today . It's beautiful and smells good but it's getting up there. 

Eyes

Finally putting an eyeshadow palette in my pan, lol. I want to pan a shade in each of these. An actual pan, not just move them around (which is hard to judge from the top down view).  Both of these palettes were also lovely gratis (thank you!!). (I had just sprayed these with a makeup sanitizing spray so they aren't quite dry I guess, whoops). 

I want to finish both the Stila mini shimmer and the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Flypencil Longwear Pencil Eyeliner Lady Lagoon . 

Scents

I just want to finish off 6 Scentbird vials. Any 6. Sometimes I save some of my faves, but better to use and try to get a full size or re-add it to my queue.

I make pretty good progress on my haircare, skincare, foundations/concealers and powders, so just need to be consistent with those. 

For lippies, I have a few dozen I need to get some use on this year, so if I go through all of those to decide if they're staying in my collection longer, I'll be happy.

I cannot wait to see you fully pan that Lise Watier bronzing powder @haleyvvvv 😁 and to see your progress on the bronzers, eyeshadows and blushes - those three products are the hardest for me to pan.

I find it so hard to pan anything while also using others in my collection. I think these bronzers will be okay to pan (finishing them is another story). For me, it's lipsticks that are the hardest to pan, especially since I don't really get a chance to reapply during the day with wearing a mask, so their usage is way down).

It's not very big, but I'd like to clear through them to only have a few on the go, since they're not the prettiest bottles and storing the new ones is a pain. Right now I'm set to get 18 a year, so I'd like to go through more tbh but 6 felt more realistic than 12.

I'm pretty close on a few so this feels achievable.

@haleyvvvv -- what beautiful stuff! I love those blush palettes, as I did the first time you showed them. Good luck, you are so steady I have no doubt you'll hit most or all of your goals and more.

If using loose powders isn't a drag for you, that Lise Watier bronzer might be easier to access that way. I'm pretty good with loose powder stuff, even eyeshadow, as long as I keep it handy, but I know not everyone is fond of the form.

Thank you, @heavyhedon!! These blush palettes are such faves and have so many beautiful shades, and this will inspire me to keep reaching for them. 

That's good advice, but I hate loose powders personally (I'm clumsy and it's just a recipe for disaster). I think it just magically never ends tbh.
