Welcome to the Pan It Challenge, 2022 Edition!!

I'm claiming a 2022 that's greater than our wildest imaginations, also for my longtimers this will be our FIFTH YEAR doing this challenge. Thanks to all who've stuck around and everyone who's tested themselves and jumped into the madness. You all are amazing 😘

The "Rules"

To accommodate a variety of interests, you all are encouraged to pick items to pan that are most suitable to your collections.  For some, this might mean focusing on a particular type of product (like lipstick) and for others this may include a larger variety spanning your entire makeup or skincare routine.

Getting Started (please share the following)

• Which item(s) you would like to work on
• How long you will work on said item
• Goal: explore a new item, revisit an old item, decide whether to keep pass or trash, and/or completely finish item, etc.
• Starting photo of item

Please Use This Thread To...

• share what item(s) you are working on,
• provide comparative progress photos of your item(s) monthly (at the beginning of the month when possible),
• ask questions,
• encourage others,
• motivate others with the looks you create with your item(s)

Tips and Tricks to Panning/Getting Some Use Out of Your Stash:

• Take photos!!  When you think you aren’t making a dent in anything look back at those photos, I’m certain you’ll see some changes 😃
• If you goal is to hit pan or use something up entirely, try concentrating your brush/applicator in the same area each time you use it
• Multitask your products: eyeshadows as highlighter, lipstick as blush, eyeshadow as brow powder, etc. 
• Layer eyeshadow to create different colors (this is especially helpful to get use out of shades you’re not fond of).
• Have shadows with a ton of fall out?  Use water
• Watching the progress of others’ can be fun but try not compare your progress to theirs.  We all use our makeup differently and have different goals.
• Don’t restrict yourself to only using the item(s) you are working on.  It’s more than OK to incorporate other items or take a break!
• Makeup should be fun….if you begin to dread doing your makeup because you made a commitment to use a product that you now hate, TOSS IT!  Do not force yourself to use up something you don’t like.  Move on to something else!  (This includes excluding particular shades from your goals if focusing on palettes, etc.)

Ideas to Help You Pan Those Items:

• Roll the dice: number your items and use a random number generator to pick what you will use each (day/week/month/etc.) 
• Layer/Mask: items you are less fond of under things you like
• Pan a Look: at the beginning of the week pick a look that you can wear everyday
• Recreate: a look worn by a fellow BICer, celebrity, etc.
• Spice up an "everyday" look by adding subtle pops of color (in the crease or on the lower lash line, mix lip products to make shades wearable, etc.)

@ElleElleG Oooooh I don't think I've seen that palette before. So pretty and you're already at such a good point with it...and that last dark shade is calling my name. AHHHHH

@AznAngelLiz I had to do some digging to confirm, but I purchased this in December 2018! It was definitely overshadowed by her larger releases. She released that 5-pan cranberry palette that Winter too and that got horrible feedback (completely different formula than this one).

That crease shade is delicious! I have to tell myself to stop using it so I dont run out too quickly. If ND ever releases a single of it I'll buy like 10 😬 @heavyhedon

Awww @blackkitty2014 💕 You can do it, you just have to play around until you find what method/tricks work best for you in your routine!

Such a gorgeous palette will be pretty easy and gratifying to pan, even though that quint has 2.5 gm pans. Wishing you success!

Thank you @MvLL ! ND definitely packed a lot of shadow in those pans so I will be VERY surprised if I manage to hit pan in any of the other shades for a bit.

I love ND's 5-pan palettes @ElleElleG! This one is such a beauty! 💖 And look at the pan in that center shade. It always brings a smile to my face to see folks hitting pan on their product. 😍 Great job, always!

Thanks @itsfi ! This was the first one to really catch my eye and I was/am surprised that it didn't become popular. Might have something to do with the larger palettes that were being released at the time.

Becca Powder (I've been at this for a while and feel that's close to be finished, I just hardly reach for loose powder)

Stila Shade Mystere (going to try to finish this off this year; it needs a little reviving so we'll see how long that lasts)

Buxom beige and pink lip crayons (continues from my failed pan last year) 

MUFE lippie (DS) (this is a discontinued lippie and while a beautiful color, needs to go soon) 

rms beauty Wild With Desire Lipstick Temptation (DS) (what I thought was this going bad turns out to be a feature not a bug, but a mini is a good addition) 

Pans 

Kosas Color & Light: Crème Cream Blush & Highlighter Duo 8th Muse High Intensity 

Hourglass Vanish™ Flash Highlighting Stick Champagne Flash (let's say to the purple planet) 

Usage 

Use each 5 times in the next 3 months, then swap with the SEPHORA COLLECTION Clean Velvet Cream Blush Palettes and use each of those shades 5 times in three months.

I think this is doable with the exception of the highlighters. I'm also a little worried about that pink lip crayon. I'll be happy if I get the Stila down to the "l" but using it all could be done.
