I'm claiming a 2022 that's greater than our wildest imaginations, also for my longtimers this will be our FIFTH YEAR doing this challenge. Thanks to all who've stuck around and everyone who's tested themselves and jumped into the madness. You all are amazing 😘
The "Rules"
To accommodate a variety of interests, you all are encouraged to pick items to pan that are most suitable to your collections. Tips and Tricks to Panning/Getting Some Use Out of Your Stash:
Take photos!!When you think you aren’t making a dent in anything look back at those photos, I’m certain you’ll see some changes😃
If you goal is to hit pan or use something up entirely, try concentrating your brush/applicator in the same area each time you use it
Multitask your products: eyeshadows as highlighter, lipstick as blush, eyeshadow as brow powder, etc.
Layer eyeshadow to create different colors (this is especially helpful to get use out of shades you’re not fond of).
Have shadows with a ton of fall out?Use water
Watching the progress of others’ can be fun but try not compare your progress to theirs. We all use our makeup differently and have different goals.
Don’t restrict yourself to only using the item(s) you are working on.It’s more than OK to incorporate other items or take a break!
Makeup should be fun….if you begin to dread doing your makeup because you made a commitment to use a product that you now hate, TOSS IT!Do not force yourself to use up something you don’t like.Move on to something else! (This includes excluding particular shades from your goals if focusing on palettes, etc.)
So… this happened when I was looking for something in my collection last night 😭 I had it in a box on a rack and the box slipped from my grasp when I reached for it. Lesson learned: I’m going to reorganize that space and take all fragile items out. Luckily only a small amount shattered onto the wooden floor and most of it stayed in the pan. It’s a huge pan so I’m glad most of it was saved. I don’t even recall this brand but I got it when I was on vacation a couple years ago so it makes me a little sad that I broke it. However, this makes me want to enjoy it all the more lest any other makeup accidents occur again so I’m making this the primary item of my project pan! 🌟
@Guessgal -- bummer, it's pretty! Maybe if repressing it is too much of a pain, you can just grind it to fine powder, and use it loose or mix in with a little face oil or moisturizer. Good luck!
I HATE when this happens! That happened to one of my favorite blushes and I almost cried. I haven't tried repressing anything, but I've watched a decent amount of videos on it, and I think the key is that you really need to mash it up and make a slurry to get a good repress. I haven't had the heart to "destroy" things more to make them right again.
@Guessgal Oh dear sorry that happened. That happened to me a few years back with abrand new highlighter i bought. I read that rubbing alcohol helps solidify it again. I tried it but it kept crumbling. I don't recommend without doing your research. I don't know if adding rubbing alcohol would be good for the skin (especially if it is dry). But it did make my highlighter into a bit of a paste and then dried. I am sure it would change the formula.
@Guessgal, I was visualizing the fall in slow-mo as I read your post! Noooooo! 😫 I’m glad that most of stayed in the compact. Will you try to re-press it or convert it into a loose powder bronzer?
Good question @itsfi! I considered repressing it with rubbing alcohol like @Mellmars1185 mentioned, but I’ve never done it before so I’m a little nervous about messing it up. I realized this bronzer is super soft so I don’t think it’ll develop any hard chunks that sometimes happen when panning pressed powders. So yes, I will use it as a loose powder and see how it goes 😊
