Kids at Sephora

Spoiler

Hey I’ve seen more and more children who are 13 or under going into these stores destroying brands  and being disrespectful toward employees. It’s very unfortunate because when I try to use the used products to try it out, they always look messy or they’re put away due to these kids. Not just that but it’s all over social media 😞 so if Sephora hasn’t done already, they should create an age restriction, so this problem won’t happen again.

Re: Kids at Sephora

While this is true, lots of kids in Sephora don't do this. I think that young children buying things like drunk elephant, and retinol is pretty crazy, but if a kid just wants to us their money to get a sol de Janeiro, or a blush. Who is going to stop them!? I think if they applied age restrictions, the 12 or 11 year olds could maybe still pass as old enough, and get in anyways.

Re: Kids at Sephora

Yes but what if they are just wanting like summer Friday or something like that but then because of this trend of people hating kids at Sephora people give them bad looks because of the trends. It’s really not fair To those that aren’t doing anything😕

Re: Kids at Sephora

Hey! I was at a different sephora location, unaccompanied by my mom (In another aisle right outside of kohl’s) Looking at SDJ but one of the employees, very nice, said I needed to be accompanied by an adult to be in Sephora. Of course I left I have never had problems with my main locations. Is this true? Am I only allowed inside of the store with a parent? Also I was not screwing around with any of the testers whatsoever, I do not condone with any of the kids who do not clean up after themselves.

Re: Kids at Sephora

YES someone gets it!

Re: Kids at Sephora

Agreed

Re: Kids at Sephora

the thing is, not all kids under 13 do this.

Re: Kids at Sephora

But seriously I know that these kids are causing problems but does adding age restrictions really change anything besides what if they want sol de janeiro or something that doesn’t have to do w/ dangerous skincare and makeup so why don’t they add like a teens/tween section with products that don’t ruin young skin because if we block tweens from an experience that will help them learn much more they will never know the real world and we can even make an anti-aging area that is blocked of for kids and why dont we take away the testers because they are gross anyway like maybe you can ask an employee for a tester and they do for example the pump for you and more vigilance so the kids have to go in with a responsible adult so pls Sephora and others reconsider the age restriction

Re: Kids at Sephora

Right!! I have seen more adults ruining testers and products more than kids. It’s quite sad really.

Re: Kids at Sephora

why don't they just not have an age restriction, thank you.

Re: Kids at Sephora

Hi everyone! I am writing an article about this recent "Sephora kids" phenomenon and I would LOVE to interview some of you who have firsthand experience with this. If you work at Sephora, have a kid who loves Sephora, or have simply witnessed the kids in action, please reach out to me at mnvh@unc.edu if you have any comments or info that you are willing to share! Thanks!

Re: Kids at Sephora

My personal opinion is that kids 12 and younger should be accompanied by an adult and moderated throughout the store. I will admit it’s really annoying seeing the mess especially in the drunk elephant and glow recipe. These kids do need to be more respectful these poor employees don’t get paid enough to deal with it!

Re: Kids at Sephora

I think that maybe we don’t need a safe restriction but give employees rights to kick people out without specific reason

Re: Kids at Sephora

exactly! why should all tweens have to suffer just because the odd few are rude! thank you!

Re: Kids at Sephora

I actually think this is great bc when I go into Sephora I’m usually at the mall with my little brother(11) and it’s not like he’s touching things but if he had to wait outside just bc of his age I would feel so bad

Re: Kids at Sephora

As somebody who has been going to Sephora for makeup as a kid I don't think it should be an age restriction but kids should be monenterd and not allowed to go in without a parent for 12 and younger

Re: Kids at Sephora

same i am respectful to the employees and i don't mess up samples there shouldn't be an age restriction just because some teens are disrespectful

Re: Kids at Sephora

ya exactly!

Re: Kids at Sephora

It’s not all kids. But I do agree with you that some kids are very rude and disrespectful (especially in the drunk elephant isle). I think being rude is unacceptable but i also think that Sephora is getting a lot of business. I don’t think the kids should be banned but I do think skincare smoothies should be banned. I’m pretty sure they are actually but people are disobeying that rule. I’ve seen people on Tik Tok going to Sephora and seeing how dirty the testers are. I decied to do that the other day and it is bad!

Re: Kids at Sephora

I totally agree that a lot of kids are coming and recking Sephora. But there are still a good amount of kids that are respect full and kind and it wouldn't be fair to them if there was a age restriction because other kids ruined it for them. Also there 12 year olds that are almost 13 and are respectful but wouldn't be allowed there? I'm not sure but it just putting out that some kids are still kind and it's not fair that some kids can ruin it for everyone.

Re: Kids at Sephora

I agree, they should have an age restriction until you have to have an adult go in. Children under the age of 13 shouldn’t even be wearing makeup in the first place, let alone doing skincare that costs $$$. They’re only doing it because it’s “trendy” they see the big girls putting on drunk elephant so they want to as well.
