First how do you get your eyeshadow even?

Ok so let’s just put it out there-I am not makeup smart! I know essentially nothing at 34 yrs of age, recently I have taken an interest in not looking so rough everyday. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to make my eyes even, nor can I figure out how to hide the hideous rosacea! Anyone have any ideas?

Re: First how do you get your eyeshadow even?

@Vonib P.S. Make sure you invest in good eyeshadow and a great brush. I really like the brushes by IT Cosmetics. This is my go-to eyeshadow brush:

Re: First how do you get your eyeshadow even?

@Vonib Getting your eyeshadow even is truly just a matter of practice. It took me about ten tries to get comfortable with it. Nowadays, I can do it on autopilot in five minutes flat ☺️

Remember to layer your eyeshadow, starting with your lightest colours first, and then moving on gradually to your deeper colours. That makes it much easier to blend.

As for rosacea, I had it for 15+ years. What helped me get it into full remission (and keep it there) for the last year and a half was a gentle skin care regime. My skin now looks completely normal and all the texture and redness are long gone. You can’t even tell I ever had rosacea. I look at old photos and can’t believe I suffered from it for so long.

The skin care and makeup products I found helpful (and continue to use) include:

Urban Decay Hot Springs Hydrating GelUrban Decay Hot Springs Hydrating Gel

Murad Essential-C CleanserMurad Essential-C Cleanser

Sephora Rose Cleansing WipesSephora Rose Cleansing Wipes

First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Bouncy MaskFirst Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Bouncy Mask

Ole Henriksen Balancing Force Oil Control TonerOle Henriksen Balancing Force Oil Control Toner

Urban Decay B6 Vitamin Infused Complexion Prep Priming SprayUrban Decay B6 Vitamin Infused Complexion Prep Priming Spray

All of these are quite gentle and work with my skin, not against it. I realize now that I was always reaching for the harsh scrubs and strong skin resurfacing creams and masks, because I thought I needed to beat my skin into submission. In reality,  it really needed gentle care and re-balancing.

I hope this helps!
