Does this foundation match my skin!?

8C4554DB-7D9F-4ECF-B070-B656C68179DC.jpeg

Hi everyone!

this is L’Oréal true match 2w. Does this foundation match my skin tone!? I literally cannot find any foundation to match my skin!

I can’t figure out my undertone either!

would love your opinion/recommendations

@Anonymous @That foundation looks too warm for your skin. You are probably neutral or cool undertones but then again you have to match it to your face not arm

The "W" means warm - I'm seeing cool tones to your skin. But with that said - you should be matching the foundation to your face - not your arm or hand. I'm going to recycle one of my previous posts, about matching foundation to your skin - especially since it's so hard to determine with all the COVID-related issues.

First off - if you are comfortable shopping in-store, and can get some samples, do that. Also - try any foundation somewhere where you can see it on your face in natural light - that makes a big difference.

As far as undertone, if you have pink and some yellow in your skin, you are probably neutral. Easiest way to tell is to look at the veins on the inside of your arm, near the wrist. If they are purple and blue, you are most likely "cool". If they are a mix of blue and green, you are probably "neutral". If they are mostly green-ish, you are probably a "warm". Other ways to tell undertone - if you mostly burn in the sun, you are probably a "cool". If you burn, then tan - "neutral". If you tan easily - "warm". If you look good in silver jewelry, and with stark white next to your face - cool; gold or silver jewelry looks good - neutral; look best in gold jewlery with ivory next to your face - warm. For example - I have pink and yellow tones to my skin, burn then tan, and can wear gold or silver jewelry - my coloring is neutral.

As far as shade is concerned - Look up   Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear Matte Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid & Vitamin E      .  Look at the swatches of foundation on the model's arms. When you think you find some that may be close, select those shades, and scroll through the images for that shade, until you see which model's skin tone looks closest to yours. That would get you a good start. Note that I am recommending looking at that particular foundation, because they have a wide variety of shades, tend to be pretty true to an undertone, and show an actual person without and with the foundation, to give you a better sense for a match. If that's not the foundation you are looking for, Sephora has a shade finder. View foundation you are looking for, select the "shade finder", and select the shade of Teint Idole that looks like your match, to get a recommended shade in the one you are looking for. You can also search on a website called Findation. Just enter one or two brands/shades that match your skin, and they will list additional brands/shades that are matches. I've found their recommendations to be very accurate matches for me.

Keep in mind not every brand will have a match. Also - you may find that some foundations lean a bit to the yellow side. I find that Too Faced, Tarte, Huda, and IT Cosmetics in particular tend to be a bit yellow-ish - so I pick a shade that says "rosy", "pink", or "cool", if I try something in one of those brands. HTH
