Count (if you dare)

I know there are many ladies on here that qualify as beauty addicts and product junkies and I was wondering, "How do I compare?" So let’s take a count (if you dare)! How much do you have?

Foundations/TMs –

Primers/Luminzers -

Powders -

Blush -

Lipstick/lipgloss –

Re: Count (if you dare)

I'm not going to include samples.

Foundations/TMs – 2 (1 TM for daily use, 1 foundation for special occasions)

Concealers - 3
Primers - 1 (lip primer)
Powders - 1
Blush - 1
Lipstick/lipgloss – 3

I think it's a good amount for me. The only things I'm looking to add are a matte red lipstick, a pink-nude lipstick, and an eyeshadow primer.

.... Should I be concerned with how many items I have 13 of... or is that just a great excuse to get one more in each of those categories? Smiley Wink

Re: Count (if you dare)

Absolutely.  It's a huge concern.  You should definitely get out of your unlucky streak as soon as possible.

Re: Count (if you dare)

I will preface this by saying that I have been on a necessities-only no-buy for all of 2014 and have used up over 100 products so far this year!! (Been keeping track!) After all of this major decluttering, here is what is left:

Foundations/TMs – one and one concealer
Primers/Luminzers - two deluxe samples and one eyelid primer
Powders - one
Blush - three and two bronzers and one highlighter
Lipstick/lipgloss – twenty-two

Eyeshadows – fifty-five
Eyeliner - ten
Multi-use Palettes - zero

Re: Count (if you dare)

Congrats on decluttering. Smiley Happy

Re: Count (if you dare)

Only doing the ones I know off the top of my head.

Mascaras 40 (35 of which are sample size)

Blush 31 (more if you consider some are in palettes and include tints, will be 32 tomorrow)

Powders 8 (stays at 8 if I am only counting full face powders.  would need to count and considerably add if this includes highlighters, meteorites and bronzers)

Foundations 5 (if I am only counting full size liquids)

No clue on the rest.

Re: Count (if you dare)

Ooooohh Nice blush collection! Notcreative, which one is coming tomorrow?

Looking at some of your numbers, I feel cheap.

Foundations- 1 Liquid, 2 powders

TM- 2 deluxe minis

powders- 1 setting powder

Primers- 1 travel size, 3 deluxe minis

Blush- 1 mini, 2 in a pallete

Bronzer- 1 mini, 1 in a pallete

Lipstick/lipgloss/liners- 5 full size, 5 minis

Single eyeshadows- 6

eyeshadow pallete-2 small ones (the Dior ones with 5 colors)

eyeliner-8, and some missing smaller ones.

eyebrow products-2

Multi-use palettes- 1 that I tore apart and 1 that is still in one piece.

Skincare and haircare is a different story though................

Re: Count (if you dare)

I actually had to write a paper last year about consumerism where I was asked to manually tally up the amount of money I've spent on makeup. Ready for this? In the last three years I've spent $6,781.83

Re: Count (if you dare)

That would be like a down payment for a car.....

Re: Count (if you dare)

th-1.jpegOmg! I can't wait till I have a real job so I can do all the shopping my heart desires hahaa Smiley Tongue My sister likes to joke that I will have an awesome closet and makeup collection but an empty bank account when I'm older Smiley Very Happy Unfortunately, that might be true LOL

Re: Count (if you dare)

awww @ the high schoolers!! I remember having the same frustrations about finding work. No one in retail would ever hire me, which is one of the few places high schoolers can actually apply. It drove me crazy, but eventually I found work in areas that were closer to my actual a job as a grader in a tutoring center (a desk job, woohoo!) and then a receptionist at a fitness center. (free gym membership, woohoo!) So if you do have any hobbies/interests and there are relevant places to apply to, try there. Sometimes enthusiasm for a particular line of work makes up for experience!! And on that note, I suggest applying to Sephora when you're of age. Smiley Wink

Re: Count (if you dare)

Hahahaha the problem is I don't have a real job! I'm a college student and I make $10 an hour at a bakery, I just spend all my leftover money on makeup... Lol

Re: Count (if you dare)

Yum! I've been spending my time watching Cake Boss lol Smiley Tongue And I think that's an EXCELLENT way to spend your $$ Smiley Very Happy

Re: Count (if you dare)

At least you have a job! I'm only 17 with no work experience and that makes it impossible to get a job these days. Smiley Sad

Re: Count (if you dare)

Yes definitely, all of the jobs I have I got trough friends or family

Re: Count (if you dare)

So sorry andy!! That must be really hard and you know what's silly? How are you supposed to gain work experience if you need work experience for a job? I'm only 15 so I don't have one either, but I think it would be hard for me with school anyway

Anyway, I don't have permission to work Smiley Wink
