The other thread was getting too long and difficult to load!
So what are your beauty pet peeves? What grinds your gears? Share your stories!!!
My current situation and it creases
Retailers that don't accept returns on used beauty products, like Revolve, Anthropologie and Iconic London.
When every day, my skin care routine is perfect morning and night, but every single second of every single day my nose is just so oily, but my skin is completely fine except my nose it’s so shiny and it really bothers me
@TheMayMay Skip the sérums and lotions on your nose. Use finishing powder and Spray your nose with setting spray BEFORE applying makeup. Apply makeup. Then spray it again.
CREASING CONCEALER😩 my base looks amazing but I know the minute my concealer creases it’s gonna be a bad day!!!
@xobeautybri avoid thick skincare. Use a thin layer of primer first. Then apply concealer using beauty sponge. Set it first with setting spray and don’t blink or move the mobile areas of your face until the setting spray has dried. Apply translucent powder as thinly as possible. The idea is to use it to further dry the concealer and not for it to be a layer itself.
then apply foundation as normal and set with setting spray.
sometimes your makeup will still crease. Carry your used beauty blender with you in a bag and tap as needed.
Especially when the setting powder makes it crease

Same! No matter what hack I do, no matter what product I use, no matter in what order I put my concealer on!
when i have all of my makeup routine perfected just to find out that none of it is acne safe and i have to find and buy all new products. (true story.)
@francesmathilde What makeup wasn’t acné safe? Did you find replacements?
Oh that sucks. I hope you can find something good for your skin @francesmathilde
When you find your holy grail product and you think, this is perfection, I will always repurchase this, and then it gets discontinued.
@Mel231 It’s every time I announce I love a product as a HG! I have to stop doing that
this is so true especially with sephora collection @Mel231 😭❤️
That is so true and happens all the time. Even my hubby has had a few HG get discontinued at Ulta and Sephora @Mel231
@Mel231, I feel you so much on this and it happens soooooo much now. It's either gone or reformulated and the reformulations 9/10 are just 👎🏽👎🏽 and more costly
I applaud some brands for making refillable lipsticks. Then I see them offer just a handful of their total lipstick shades as refill-only (no case) purchases, and I wonder why they bothered with refills in the first dang place. How does this reduce overall packaging waste in any remarkable way? I mean, I guess brands think their narrow selection of refill-only shades will be ones most customers would repurchase… but even if that’s true, why force customers to buy additional cases for all the other shades? (Money grab. The answer is money grab.)
I mean c’mon NARS, what the flippin’ heck is this:
You too, Dior, you’re not off the hook:
Dior does slightly better with their DIOR Dior Addict Shine Lipstick: of 45 available shades, 27 are available for refill-only purchase. Still not great though.
You know who is doing great with this? Fenty: all shades of Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Fenty Icon The Fill Semi-Matte Refillable Lipstick Grill Mast'r (can’t tag without picking a random shade) are available as refill-only, and you can buy whichever Icon case you want, or no case at all. Pretty sure Guerlain also still does this with their GUERLAIN Rouge G Refillable Lipstick —and thank goodness, because the one custom Rouge G case I have is a usability pain and I almost never use it with any of my Rouge G bullets.
If you’re gonna do refillable lipstick, make ALL shades available for purchase without cases so customers can truly avoid owning (and buying) multiple cases we probably don’t need.
@WinglessOne Aw that’s just rude. At the very least come out with new refillable shades after the first début.
@heartsmyface Right? I’d hoped NARS would expand their refill shades by now, but apparently they don’t think anyone could possibly want a berry shade as a refill. As if berry’s not a popular lipstick shade range. I generally love NARS but they might as well have not made these lipsticks refillable at all.
