The other thread was getting too long and difficult to load!
So what are your beauty pet peeves? What grinds your gears? Share your stories!!!
@danielledanielle that's seriously SO disappointing. Like, you get that anticipation buildup and then *poof*
Mm mhmm @CookieGirl1 . Also, the blush made a rattling sound when I was taking it out of the box. I know anyone who has had this happen seeing glitter or pigment is usually a trigger, but sometimes it's ok, you keep your fingers crossed. , But, HEARING is another thing. I got real dramatic 😂😭
@danielledanielle I hate hearing that sound. Like, as soon as I hear it my heart instantly sinks.
@danielledanielle That is very disappointing. Sorry that happened. Im lucky i didnt get any powders in my haul. The delivery person threw the package at my door 🚪😐
@Mellmars1185 - I feel for you! My delivery people almost always toss the package at my door--very annoying! 😖
Homg, that's terrible @Mellmars1185 . I get that it's not easy delivering goods, but that's not right
@danielledanielle oh no that’s so disheartening.
I knoooow. Good news @heartsmyface & @Mellmars1185 , @Titian06 @curlychiquita @faeriegirl
Everything has arrived intact. Someone actually heard me out on extra padding
This should be the default. Less costly, less wasteful, less sadness.
I'm so happy for you that your palette arrived so well packaged, @danielledanielle ! 🥳 Enjoy your new palette!
That is great @danielledanielle! I wish they would pack all the palettes that way.
That is so frustrating @danielledanielle, I hope you don’t have any trouble getting replacements.
This is less of a beauty pet peeve and more of a consumer pet peeve but I have such a case of FOMO whenever I see the Ulta website. I want more fun brands like REM Beauty and points for dollars!
mascara on my nose after finishing my makeup has been my biggest gripe lately.
for me a pet peeve of mine is sweating during applying my makeup, i have oily skin so that’s why😭😭it’s so annoying!!!
When I’m doing my mascara and it gets on my eyelids!!
when my foundation does not mix well with the primer and it looks horrible and I have to start all over again since it looks flakey.
FWIW, the pilling between primer and foundation usually has to do with the mismatch of products; that is, one product has an oil or silicone base, and the other has a water base. I made that mistake one day when I was going for a job appointment, and I chose that day to try a new foundation (with a water base.) Did NOT mix well at all with the primer. I look like I had rolled glue nubs all over my face. Total disaster! I tried to figure out afterwards what went wrong and after some work, I came up with the oil/silicone/water thing. You gotta read the ingredients list of foundation and primer first to see if they play well with one another (one way to avoid this is to buy the primer and foundation from the same company. For the most part, products by the same firm should work together.)
@Anastasiya13 Ugh yes! I honestly have started skipping the primer due to the pilling on some of them. I have so many primers I just no longer touch. I've pretty much replaced primer with my sunscreen that doubles up as one and I'm so happy I did.
@QueenMarceline Thats pretty smart to do, I might end up trying that too. I use primers especially now since we wear masks, and just been trying to see what's best, or let it dry down a little longer before applying the foundation
