The other thread was getting too long and difficult to load!
So what are your beauty pet peeves? What grinds your gears? Share your stories!!!
I have never done THAT, but I've had it where someone stole my ideas for stuff a lot. The most erksome wasn't even that they stole my idea.. I can almost convince myself I'm flattered by it.. but what kills me is people who told me my idea was caca and THEN stole it. Like, stealing from me wasn't enough, gotta try and stomp on my self-confidence while yer at it?!
What. The eeeefffff?! That IS crazy. Wow. I canNOT with that. Good on you for calling it out, that's really creepy and deceitful.
The "repeating back to me" thing happens to me all the time. Jokes, recipes, even personal stories...
Friend: -"someone once told me this and that happened to them"
Me: -"I know, it was me"
I don't think they do it on purpose, I'm just surrounded by people without memory 😄
It's frustrating, but I'm glad it happens to other people too. For me it usually happens with my fiance- he's the type that has to prove he knows everything so he'll start explaining something to me. Even after I tell him "I know" he'll continue explaining and then I have to get angry and yell that I know because I'm the one that told him that info.
Yeah, I know they don't mean to, but . . . wow, it's just seriously irritating. Didn't used to make veins pop in my forehead and neck, but it does now. lol I also know these people don't "practice" good memory. They don't make extra effort to remember things, so the stuff they keep or lose is nearly random. Or it has to be good enough, or bad enough, that they aren't able to forget the experience.
Ugh, I have the same except with a co-worker. I say something like 'I'll probably do x and y to make sure this doesn't happen." and the next day in front of team meetings he would say something along the lines 'It's of absolute important that we do x and y so this doesn't happen."
Drives me bonkers! This has been going on for months and he's new to the organization. He does it to absolutely everyone so I don't take it that personally but I wonder if it's memory or personality. I wish I knew how to approach him about it because I am starting to quickly lose my patience.
I wonder if the universe is trying to send me a signal that I should just stop ordering stuff online.
January isn't even over and I already got a few "messages" -wrong item, damaged stuff, etc... But the cake goes to a pair of Wolford tights from Nordies. I mean, I received "a package of Wolfords". I could see from outside something was off, but never in a million years I expected what I found:
Used stockings!, and it doesn't even match! 😮
I think it may have been shipped from a store and some criminal costumer was responsible for this. Now you tell me, how does a person sound when telling a story like this over the phone to CS 😕 Maybe I should just stop online shopping...
Yikes! I am truly sorry that this happened to you! I originally suggested you order your Wolford's through Nordies because I actually work for Nordstrom and I know we (my location) have a very good stock and selection of Wolford's. I did not anticipate for someone to send you a used pair of tights, however. Again, I am sorry and if this were to ever happen again (god forbid) please send me a DM so I can get it straightened out for you! I am a service experience specialist so it is my job to make things right for the customer. I am glad that CS is sending you a new pair though! 🙂
@gonerogue Thanks! I was able to find one on sale online. Usually it's hard to find a Medium on sale because it's probably the most popular size, let alone on the right color. But I was lucky, or so I thought. But I don't blame Nordies on this one. Last year Bloomingdales sent me a box of 3 CK tights, instead of just one, and I was more upset at them for giving me the trouble of having to ship back the 2 extra pairs 😄 Thank you for offering to help, it's very kind. Hopefully I won't need it.
Omg, I don't know whether to laugh or cry over those stockings.
That is so gross I'm so sorry! Here is a humorous story to hopefully bring a smile to your face:
My mom refers to panty hose as just hose (a lot of people/family members around here do so I'm not sure if it's a local thing or not). Anyways my mom and dad went to Vegas and while opening the package to get ready for a party my mom realized that the SA sold her the wrong kind of panty hose. She assumed that she was sold the right thing so she just threw it in her suitcase and didn't check until it was time to get dressed. As they were staying in a very nice hotel and had concierge service she called down to the desk as they would be leaving soon for a black tie event and needed the correct item. So when concierge picked up the phone this was how the conversation went
Anyways my dad was laughing so hard in the background he was turning beet red and crying. Finally he was able to get out "think about what you're saying" to my mom who was then totally embarrassed. Long story short she got her under garments and the concierge desk had a great laugh.
@niki172 Haha what a cute and funny story. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
@DaintyDiva OMFG the kisses! That is too funny!
My mom is also very scatterbrained and there are plenty of stories. One is that she'd call the Dunkin Donuts Strawberry
Coolattas "strawberry daiquiris." Hahaha.
@lmi82 Lol 😄 Maybe a Freudian slip? She actually wanted a daiquiri 🙂
@niki172 ROFL 😄 That was too funny, thanks for sharing with us 🙂
Moms are funny. My mom likes to finish her phone calls saying "kisses". Mainly she only talks on the phone with family and friends, so it became a habit. Suffice to say that by force of habit she has send "kisses" to complete strangers a couple of times already, only to realize what she did the moment she disconects 😄
@DaintyDiva at least some strangers got some love 😄
I have so many stories just like that. My mom and grandma have done such scatterbrain things it could fill a book!
Oh wow that's insane. Nordstrom CS is quite amazing, so I'm sure they'll sort it out for you without any problem, but man.. I'm so sorry to see this mess! 😞
That is so disgusting the stockings were used and mismatched! I am sorry this happened to you. 😞
@angel7594 Thank you. You are right, the word is disgusting! I was just totally shocked when I saw it. 😞
It wasn't even supposed to be stockings, just plain tights. I think someone just grabbed those nylons they keep out (so people can feel the fabric / color) and stuck inside when they stole the real ones.
@DaintyDiva, It is appalling the theft schemes people come up with to cheat businesses, and unsuspecting customers who don't get what they have paid for (in the package). I've had really good experiences with Nordstrom customer service, so I hope this is made right for you.
@angel7594 and @NarNarNars The CS lady was very nice. Not sure she understood the part of the used stockings (I imagine it sounds weird), but she got that the tights never arrived really, so she said she would re-send them. I hope this one goes smoothly, I'm too anxious to deal with this...
