Beauty Pet Peeves 2

The other thread was getting too long and difficult to load!

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

I don't understand the balls on the ends of wands. Wasn't there some brow product where the wand was also ball shaped? Is the ball at the end supposed to help get into corners/edges, because I feel like the shape helps 0/10.

Spoiler
also kinda sorta reminds me of lady parts. SORRY if you can't unsee

I also dont understand the different names for black. I noticed the waterproof vs non waterproof versions have different names for "black"

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

I agree @mella900 Like that Givenchy one. Those spiked balls do nothing for my lashes. A traditional tapered wand works best for me. Some things are just fine as is.

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

Hahaha seriously what is up with that wand?? I'd probably stab myself in the eye with the ball at the tip!

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

Bahahahaha have to agree with all that!!!! I don't get all these weird wands either!!!!  But I would love a black as my soul black mascara 😄 😄 😄

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

"head like a hole, black as your soul" Now I have that song in my head and I hate that song LMAO! one more peeve 😄

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

My Ulta order I placed Saturday night has arrived in my hometown.

BUT, it won't be delivered until 'end of the day' Friday!

(I seriously hate myself for checking that 'package tracker page' but I also hate surprises! I am doomed).

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

When you call Sephora stores to place holds and are told they don't do holds for the sale 😔

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

I'll get back to the point of beauty peeves- why are my eyebrow pencils all drying up prematurely?  I have one from Benefit, one from Etude House and one from IT cosmetics and they are all drying up!  They aren't even all that old, the one from Etude house is maybe a month old? I keep the caps on tight and store them in a cool dry place, and they all still feel like they are pulling my sparse lashes out when I try to fill in. Grr. If anyone knows how to rejuvenate these or what I'm doing wrong, please let me know.

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

You don't happen to have a dehumidifier running in your house do you?

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

Nope, even the heat isn't on yet, it's been ridiculously hot here in PA, it was 70 degrees today, normal is 54.

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

It was just a thought.  I can't think of any other reason that would be happening.  Bummer.

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

I haven't had a problem with my pencils, I guess I would consider the ABH brow wiz a pencil. BUT I have this problem with the dipbrow pomade. It dries up so quickly even when you close the lid tightly. Drives me crazy. I still use it but it's not as easy to work with

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

Darn, I was going to try the Dipbrow Pomade next, but if it's going to do the drying up act, it's a no go. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

The ABH dip brow drives me crazy too! I've closed the lid so tightly once (to prevent it from drying it out) that the it broke, 😞 Had to buy another one before it even dried out. Lol.

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

Awwww, I would have been putting my cracked one in a mini ziplock bag after each use.  Not glamourous but it would work for a while.

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

@mella900

I used one to two drops of baby oil to revive mine. You really don't need much of it. Just drop the oil in, close the lid, and wait a day. Not as creamy as it was brand new, but almost.

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

That is the main reason that I quit using pencils. I need every brow hair that I have--no pulling out just to get some color there!

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

@DiVWA So what works best for you, maybe I'll give it a try, the sale is coming up....

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

@prettyinp, I use a combo of three products because I have thin S&P brows and like them to look natural. Only one of the three products is at Sephora though.

I use a marker for my tail (so far it hasn't dried out in-between uses, although it seems to get dry each time I'm using it when I'm on the second brow); a powder for filling in, and a tinted fiber gel for adding color. If I'm in a hurry I just use the powder and let my white hairs show through.

The marker is Laura Geller's and is currently at Macy's and Nordstrom's. (Ulta used to sell it but dropped it for some reason). The powder is Illamasqua's Eyebrow Cake--this stuff has no fallout and doesn't wear off from sweat or sun. (Carried at Illamasqua, B glowing and Amazon.) The tinted fiber gel carried at Sephora is Lashfood Browfood Tinted Brow Enhancing Gelfix.

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

There let me re-track this thread 😛

I used Born This Way Foundation sample and I love it so much that I really want to buy it but then I get dishearten by my inventory of 5+ brand new high end foundations that I have not yet try.

Damn those samples!!!

Re: Beauty Pet Peeves 2

I'm having this issue with the Kat Von D Lock it Concealer.  I got a peel-off sample, and it is amazing.

... but I have three more full sized concealers to get through first.  Ugh!
