October 31: What full size candy bar would you love to give out or get on Halloween?
@Titian06 This is such a throwback to my childhood! I miss the Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show!
That's a funny witch! Omg I remember her 😄🧹🖤
Great choice @Titian06
@Titian06 that is a great Bugs Bunny episode
Top 3 (and bottom 3) fav candies: My favorite are Reese Peanut Butter Cups, WunderBar and Oh Henry's. The ones I give away are Malt Balls, Charleston Chews and those wrapped molasses candies. No thank you 😵💫
Favorite Witch: There's a lot of good ones but I'm going to say The Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. 🧹 🪣
@CynthieLu Reece’s are so underrated but so good!
Been looking forward to this.
October 1 : Who is your favorite witch?
The three witches in Macbeth. Best line from them "Double, double toil and trouble: Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.”
Those are good picks @CorgiMommy,the Witches from Macbeth are classic.
@CynthieLu sometimes I think of those witches while driving to work! 🧙♀️ 🧹
@CynthieLu @greeneyedgirl107 Agreed! That is such a classic line. It’s quoted so much around this time but no one ever talks about where it’s from.
Ooh, thanks for that starting this again, @greeneyedgirl107! I love seeing how everyone celebrates the season. 🎃
Ideas to kick off fall?
I've brought out my Halloween mugs for my morning tea each day and it's (thankfully!) finally starting to feel a bit cooler here to the windows can stay open to let in some fresh air.
Any superstitions?
nothing is coming to mind
Favorite things about pumpkins?
I love carving pumpkins and roasting the seeds to snack on.
Mars or Hershey's brand candy?
Ugh, such a hard decision! As much as I love a Twix or a Milky Way, I'd probably go with Hershey's for the Reese's line up, plus Kit Kats and Rolos.
Ways to keep your spirits up as the season changes?
Fall is my favorite season, followed by winter, so luckily I don't need a pick-me-up this time of year. Now ask again in June as summer is rolling in, lol.
Creepy things that you enjoy?
All the horror movies!
Halloween nail ideas?
I picked up some Dashing Diva and Kiss sets on sale last year after the holiday so I'll probably pull those out once October officially starts. I think I have four or five designs to pick from.
What colors compliment orange and black?
Purple is one of my favorites to pair. Also green.
How have you noticed Halloween changing over time?
Definitely. More people are into decorating these days which I think is fun. But every year we see fewer trick-or-treaters which makes me a little sad.
Any cocktails or mock-tails that sound interesting?
There's a restaurant here that does the most amazing spiked apple cider. I don't remember what spirits they put in it, but it's so good!
Favorite sounds of the season?
Rustling leaves being blown around by the wind
Are you into the Hocus-Pocus movie mania?
Not really. It's a cute movie, but I was more of a The Worst Witch kind of kid.
Best baked goods?
Nothing beats a classic chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven for me. But I do also love to play around with pumpkin flavors this time of year.
@greeneyedgirl107 - I found this thread before it started--woo-hoo! 🎃
So I did include prompts for those of use who can't wait until October 1st - myself included!
Ideas to kick off fall? I'm bringing in pumpkin spice goodies from Trader Joe's to work. However, I was underwhelmed by the pumpkin bagels from them. Their whipped cream cheese was decent, though
Any superstitions? None that I can think of, but if I remember any I'll edit.
Favorite things about pumpkins? Everything! The colors! The smell! The pumpkin patches! The different sizes!
Mars or Hershey's brand candy? Neither. Once I started eating Lindt chocolate regularly, it was hard to go back to regular candy. I've always disliked Hershey bars. Too bitter/sour.
Ways to keep your spirits up as the season changes? Decorating, candles, sending cards. Maybe tea when I'm in the mood.
Creepy things that you enjoy? I guess some scary movies. When I was younger I enjoyed the spookier Halloween decorations as opposed to the classic kind. Now that I'm older I don't like the gruesome decorations that seem to be so popular these days. It's not my style at all.
Halloween nail ideas? I don't follow nail art, but I love to look.
What colors compliment orange and black? I've seen little pops of teal here and there and don't mind it. I wish more colors went with orange and black.
How have you noticed Halloween changing over time? I feel like costumes are less home spun. On the one hand I like the difference, but on the other hand it might feel too commercial. I also mentioned that I feel like people do more spooky/creepy/ghoulish decorations these days - at least outdoors. I feel like in the past it was more just pumpkins, happy scarecrows, cotton-y spider webs, etc.
Any cocktails or mock-tails that sound interesting? I'd like to try a nice spiked apple cider drink. But hold the spice - I just don't care for it.
Favorite sounds of the season? Maybe crunching leaves.
Are you into the Hocus-Pocus movie mania? Not at all. I'm happy that other people enjoy it. And I appreciate it when an old movie gets a cult following. But I saw that movie in the theatre and barely got through it. I don't see the appeal. And now to see it all over the place (I'm talking to you, Hallmark!) I'm kinda bummed.
Best baked goods? Nothing fall-related springs to mind, but Trader Joe's had some good looking Apple Cider donuts, apple/pumpkin danishes (or similar) and apple/pumpkin hand pies (or something like that). I'm still on the fence about if I'll try them. They might be sold out by now. Plus, they'll probably have too much spice. Plus, I'm on a diet. Oh - maybe the best baked good I can think of is Costco's pumpkin pie!
Ooh Lindoor makes yummy treats @greeneyedgirl107 I can see why it would be hard to go back too the others. ( I'm very into my Reese's Choc Peanut Butter Treats for Halloween )
@greeneyedgirl107 Woo can't wait~
@greeneyedgirl107 What a fun thread! I need to remember to come back here next week.
@greeneyedgirl107 will be joining this fun thread in October. Have been missing these.
@Samtian @CorgiMommy @JoSometimes you can totally start now. I included these prompts for those of us who can't wait:

Honestly I'm not a huge Halloween fan but I love burning pumpkin candles!
Perfect timing! I came snooping here earlier yesterday looking for Halloween talk/count down thread/potential Ghoulfriend gift exchange. I must have looked a couple hours before you posted because I didn't see anything yet. I'm so ready for October! I already have my pumpkin/Jack-o-lantern kitty hand towels up; I'm burning fall scented candles; and I have already had multiple pumpkin flavored beers and lattes.... 🎃🎃🎃
