@makeitup305 sad news to read Poppy King is returning to Australia and her line will not be available anywhere but there going forward. Bummer as she really makes a decent lip. 😢 I can’t imagine having to compete with the giants in the beauty world. 😕 @WinglessOne @missjeanie

@Sunnysmom  I saw Poppy’s Instagram video about this, and it made me wish more small indie brands would partner up. Not “merge,” just offer bundles that contain each brand’s products. I haven’t seen much of that lately from indies, though I’ve also not intentionally looked (trying to be as low-buy as I can this year). 

It also renewed my annoyance of influencer-driven profits. Poppy specifically mentioned not having celebrity backing (because that’s not how she rolls, and I greatly respect that), but she also doesn’t seem to have much beauty influencer hype—and I kinda hate that brands need influencer hype at all to sell anything these days. 

Anyway: I’m sad about this. My wallet’s not, but I am. 😂 I hope Poppy finds a way to ship to the US without wrecking her profit margin.

So true all of what you said here @WinglessOne . She’s old school and I respect that. I hope we someday have a less influenced world ! I get it but I feel as you do. Also about my wallet!! 😊

@Sunnysmom That is sad news.  I totally agree though.  it must be so hard to break in and make it worth while to stock and ship all over the world when there are so many massive brands.

Can not imagine @missjeanie . I was so happy to see her try! I was hoping someone else could maybe pick her up and back her. So now we’ve lost LQ and our beloved Bite! Waaa! 😭 I bought a few Bite over the holidays and they still feel really nice. Beetroot was so similar to our old ones! Have you gotten any lately?!

@Sunnysmom Beetroot was my favourite shade!  I actually broke out one of my Bite's a few weeks back and was pretty dang impressed with how well it's held up.  I'm bound and determined to find my way to a Lip Lab.  I know it won't be quite the same as the originals, but I'm hoping the custom factor will make it more special.  Which shades did you pick up?  Where on earth did you find them? Inquiring minds might need some...

Me too @missjeanie ! I think we share a lot of favorite shades ! 🥰 I have some of my old favs too.  I do have a Lab really close by but I have been ordering on their site! Did you say you had ordered any since they left Sephora?  Be sure and sign up for new releases too. I had wanted a few during the holiday and was trying to behave but then fomo got me for some of the LE shades! Ugh. I got The Velma Chicago Broadway, Beetroot and Berry Weath! They’re so pretty. I will swatch them and tag you if you want to see them! I did have a problem with one of them being kind of rough around the bullet but their CS is so good and they replace any issues. Suppose the risk of the handmade factor. It’s just liplabdotcom as you probably see on IG etc. 🤗 They’ll still do stuff for us by a phone consult or email plus the glosses look good too. Haven’t tried them yet because I can’t get past the lipsticks. Lol. Wouldn’t it be fun for a bunch of us to go to a Lab together?! Oooh yes please!

@Sunnysmom I haven't ordered any since the brand demise!  But I did maybe have a little swatch fest last night when I was putting some of last weeks capsule away... So many great shades.  I don't know why I haven't really thought to order from a lip lab before??? What was I thinking?  I maybe just spent a little time perusing their website.  There are a few old faves in there in the balm and gloss formula that I wouldn't mind trying out.  

I was hoping to get to a Lip Lab when in NYC for Sephoria last year.  I'm hoping where ever it's hosted this year has a lip lab that I can book into while in town.  Would LOVE to do that with a BIC group!!!

You should order something and see what you think! 🥰 Oh that would be so fun to do! I think a Lip Lab appointment is a must for the next Sephoria if there is one close by! Check check ✅✅!

@Sunnysmom I end up with swatches on both sides of my arms up to my elbows.  Every time I see an influencer doing swatches with a white shirt on I get second hand nerves lol! 

I think we'll have to be doing a headcount for a lip lab excursion!

Yes for sure @missjeanie ! 🤣 I give myself anxiety wearing a white shirt anytime I’m in Sephora! Lol How do they do it?! Yup, they’d probably have to close the place down!

@Sunnysmom the makeup is pretty saturated right now. It's hard for small brands to stand out unless they have a big name (celebrity-level) attached to it.

@makeitup305 Oh my gosh.  I broke out Frog Price last week.  I sanitized it and wore it despite it's age.  It still smelled fine and performed well.  I thought I had Hey Sailor somewhere too, but... it may be long gone.  Oh I'm going to need to keep an eye on her site.

@missjeanie I never owned any of her lipsticks that switched colors but I have an old LE lippie that I have never been able to dupe. I don't wear it because it smells like crayons but I keep it in hopes of finding a similar one one day. Her current line looks really interesting. She seems intent in bringing back all the crowd favorites.

Saw these too @makeitup305 @WinglessOne . So cute! They wouldn’t work for me I don’t think as the previous shades didn’t but I’m so glad Witch Princess does! Try them makeitup305! I hope she does a similar reiteration of Medieval tho. Big favorite of mine!

I never tried the originals @Sunnysmom .I have a lipstick queen LE shade that is super expired that I've kept in hopes I can find a dupe one day. I want to see what else she comes out with.
