Hey all!  Welcome to Year 5 of the No/Low Buy thread 😲.

For reference here's the purpose of this thread (from lnum):

This thread is a support system for all of us who are trying to maintain a budget and keep our beauty spending limited. Post here when you have a weak moment, post here to hold yourself accountable, post here when you just need someone to talk to, post here when you have advice for all of us, and post here when you make mistakes but also make gains! Many of us post here to keep track of our monthly purchases. Anything you need to say, we are all here for each other. There's no judgement here.

Feel free to share your goals, items that tempt you, missteps (we don't believe in failures), and any successes.  Above all else, encourage and support one another.

I am so excited to spend another year with you all. If it wasn't for the first two years of this thread, I would never have been able to cut down my beauty spending. My goal for this year is to maintain low spending on beauty, and cut down my clothing purchases. I will be funneling that money into traveling, which is what I have done in the past and it's a great goal that truly motivates me. 

I'm still so proud of everyone for making it through 2015 and 2016, limiting ourselves in the beauty product area in order to improve our lives in other areas. We all did great and here's to another year of learning and saving!

Final week of my no buy month and it was been better than I expected. I avoided any beauty news and social media channels that first week. I was too weak to even peek at the videos! The second week I looked at my favorite influencers and wasn't persuaded. Family vacation I announced I was on a no buy to family and of course some went into Sephora and I tagged along. It was like being in a candy store and having a toothache. Saw lots, but not interested. I almost bought a skincare item and was making excuses why I needed it then. In the end I put it back and went outside the store to wait on family. Last week and I do need a couple skincare essentials. Yet, I'll hold until July. That month will become my low buy month.

I’m still doing better this month but I did make 3 purchases. I needed a replacement for my skII essence and Volition came out with a new one and it is much cheaper. Ipsy had a 12 pack of sheet masks for $12. These 2 I can justify but Ulta got me with GWP🤦‍♀️

Things have been going pretty well for me on this front. Most of my posting energy has moved to Instagram for a while, because the spam storms here a few months ago really bummed me out and I got out of the habit of posting here. But my yearly use-up goals are chugging along and I'm still only maybe 2/3 of the way to re-rouging... which is great, since I rouged three times last year. My no-buy is more of a low-buy right now, but I've only bought ten makeup/skincare items this year so that's still a win.

I definitely need to join this thread and hold myself accountable. For the past 3 years, I have told myself that I would not re-rouge, but I keep failing. This year, I am on the path and determined not to hit it..

The end of May was bad...I am a sucker for the promos. I am currently tempted to make a purchase for the SAINT JANE luxury oil promo. I have heard that it compares to Vitner's Daughter and I have even purchased/returned Vintern's Daughter because the $175 price freaked me out! So....

Looove your spreadsheet!!! I use one for all of my disposable income spending but up until this year I haven’t spent enough on makeup and self-care to have a few categories for it. I’ll have to update it!
