Hey all!  Welcome to Year 5 of the No/Low Buy thread 😲.

For reference here's the purpose of this thread (from lnum):

This thread is a support system for all of us who are trying to maintain a budget and keep our beauty spending limited. Post here when you have a weak moment, post here to hold yourself accountable, post here when you just need someone to talk to, post here when you have advice for all of us, and post here when you make mistakes but also make gains! Many of us post here to keep track of our monthly purchases. Anything you need to say, we are all here for each other. There's no judgement here.

Feel free to share your goals, items that tempt you, missteps (we don't believe in failures), and any successes.  Above all else, encourage and support one another.

I am so excited to spend another year with you all. If it wasn't for the first two years of this thread, I would never have been able to cut down my beauty spending. My goal for this year is to maintain low spending on beauty, and cut down my clothing purchases. I will be funneling that money into traveling, which is what I have done in the past and it's a great goal that truly motivates me. 

I'm still so proud of everyone for making it through 2015 and 2016, limiting ourselves in the beauty product area in order to improve our lives in other areas. We all did great and here's to another year of learning and saving!

Good for you! @ElleElleG. I also cancelled my subscription boxes. All of the palettes were getting overwhelming and keeping me from using the ones I had actually intentionally purchased.

Yes!! The palettes started to overwhelm me as well.  Nearly every palette I received is now posted on my PoshMark 🙈.  Some didn't interest me in the slightest and others I just forgot to use.

Hey @ElleElleG. Yeah, I have been a bit scarce lately, but so nice to chat with you! 🙂

I was afraid at first that I would regret cancelling boxycharm the most, but I’m really pretty relieved. There was no way in 20 lifetimes I could ever use all the palettes I had accumulated. It felt so good to be able to give a bunch of them away.

Aww thanks @CC3616 !  Nope, I have been out of the subscription box game since May or June.  There have been several boxes that I intend to sign up for, because of the spoilers, and then forget until it's unavailable.  I'm not opposed to jumping back into them but I need to see products that actually work for WOC/that I'm interested in.

@ElleElleG I need to take hint from you, I do the opposite- sign up then forget to cancel! Are there any current WOC specific boxes? I've tried to lay off perusing MSA in an effort to cut back on temptation!

@CC3616 They don't make it easy to cancel.  Around the time I canceled my BoxyCharm they had just changed the requirements to cancel (day/time) but they did not make that change known.  It was a mess. 

I know there were some in the past but I'm not aware of any at the moment.  I'm not necessarily looking for a box that solely dedicated to WOC, rather a subscription that doesn't assume everyone is fair and can wear light pink lips/blush/contour/etc.
