With the countdown to Christmas/holiday season and the New Year I thought it would be interesting to take a moment and plan some resolutions around our love for everything Beauty. In my experience its important to be realistic about your plans and also be willing to adapt as the year goes on.
Do you want to try the Project Pan challenge? Promise to use SPF everyday? Be diligent about double cleansing at night? Be more experimental with colours and techniques? Hate resolutions and live everyday in the moment!?!
List your resolutions, either each from skincare, haircare and makeup or multiple for any category. Listed below are some examples of resolutions, with mine in bold. Feel free to list your own!!
Beauty Resolutions for 2018
Happy Holidays!
1. FOR SURE slow down on spending, not to impulsively buy make up.
2. Have a strict skin care routine.
3. Participate in the Sephora beauty classes.
@kaaaylarr Yay! Shopping the stash is working already!
Goodluck for the new year @kaaaylarr! Happy Holidays!
Yeah, I need to stop buying things just for the free samples! Good Luck @CorgiMommy!!
I like this topic @Aaliaa! Okay, here are my beauty resolutions for 2018...
1. Spend less on beauty products, especially lipstick and skincare. I'm going to set annual and quarterly budgets for myself.
2. Curate makeup and clothing wardrobe.
3. Find a new hairstyle, whether it be a new cut, color, etc.
Okay, I think I can handle 3. I hope I can handle 3.
Oh, I like #2 - it's like shop your stash right?! I think I can stick to that. I have more than my share of clothes and makeup so it would definitely curb my spending as well. And, no more buying eye shadow palettes.
@Anonymous
These sound like doable resolutions, though I'm scared about setting a budget for myself. I mean, I'm fine with not spending beyond my means, but I'm not sure I'm ready to know how much I spend as it is on beauty products or beauty related things, and then to cut back on that. Eeek! But your right - aiming to spend less is a good thing and I like that you've also sort of isolated certain categories that you need to be more conscious about your spending. Mine would probably be eyeshadow palettes and lip items, particularly liquid lipsticks.
Agreed. Keeping the list short and realistic will help me stick with it.
@Anonymous Nice resolutions! I want to try out #1 too except maybe not the annual part. It might be too scary to see what I spend annually!

@Anonymous I like your choices. Definitely #1 for me; thinking about #3.
@Ispend2much6; yeah, I should be more mindful of my beauty spending. It's nice that I can make purchases, but there's a reason I purchased them and I should use them!
The hair thing is an ongoing debate - stick with what I know or venture out. A previous highlighting experience was horrible and I'm scarred. LOL!
I feel ya on this one @myinsidevoice - on both counts.
You can do it, @Anonymous!
So many of us want to try and set a budget, I might do a quarterly checkin/reminder (terrible idea??)! Curating makeup can be fun too @Anonymous!
I might try that. Fear has literally kept me from tracking my purchases in detail, but I recently re-organized my skincare/makeup and realized for example that I have 8 full-size cleansers in rotation right now!
