Hi mandypants17,

I would recommend using products designed to repair and hydrate your dry hair. A good moisturizing shampoo, conditioner, and a fantastic hair mask will sooth your tresses. It's also beneficial to use a daily leave in conditioner or some hair oil. Below are my favs.

Sachajuan Dry Hair Shampoo

Sachajuan Intensive Repair Conditioner

Alterna Bamboo Smooth Moisture Masque

Dry Bar 100 Proof Treatment Oil

Whimsically yours,

Re: Thick and Dry hair!!!

I have super thick hair as well, and one product I really like is Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment:

I use a bit after showers and I feel like it's really helped soften my hair and add some shine.

But it's not a miracle worker, and I'm in the same boat as you, so I'm interested to hear what other products work well for getting nice, sleek hair!

Re: Thick and Dry hair!!!

Alterna, hands down.  I started with Caviar Repair Rx shampoo/conditioner.  I also used the overnight treatment and the Bamboo heat protectant.  Couldn't believe how sleek and straight I can get my hair - smooth and shiny.  Didn't know it was possible with this thick, wavy, coarse mess.

Re: Thick and Dry hair!!!

I did a little research on my own previously because I too suffer from dry, thick hair. I discovered a "pre-poo" treatment. You place olive oil on your hair or you don't mind spending a little more on a manufactured product you can use Ojon's hair treatment plus, which I purchased from Sephora. Place it on the hair for 30 mins or longer to the hair before shampooing. Even after conditioning my hair I could still see a shine on my hair and it was soft and manageable. Hope this helps!

Re: Thick and Dry hair!!!

if your hair is dry maybe wash it every other day and do NOT brush a lot as this can damage and break hair. If your going for a sleek and straight look try a keratin treatment which is BTW also sold at Sephora I think.

Re: Thick and Dry hair!!!

oh yes, this works, I forgot that I do this, lol. Unless you somehow get your hair grossly dirty, shampoo/condition every other day. This has helped me a lot!
