Hi, im 13 years old, and I have something called "skin writing" where I scratch my skin and it swells up. So a few days ago, my face was rubbed really hard, and eventually swelled up. I was freaking out because this happened before, and my pores widened and wouldnt close all the way. Unfortunately, it happened again. I NEVER had oily skin or clogged pores, and I'm a dry skin person so I never had to worry about oily skin! PLEASE HELP=( I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but if you could recommend a mask or face treatment, you would save my life..

Wow you know what I think I have that skin writing condition, too! I didn't know it was a thing. It happens only when I scratch my face. I just started reading up on it... quite interesting!

Well... the changes to your pores could be a hormonal thing, being the age you are. If you want a mask I'd suggest starting with Origins Charcoal Mask $23... but I've had blackheads since I was a teenager and well, they aren't going anywhere. The charcoal mask can help if your skin is starting to get oily... but I'd only use it in those areas that are oily, like your T-zone.

In terms of make-up, Benefit's porefessional will be your best friend. It's a beige-y skin tone colored silicone primer and it fills in the pores. When I was younger I didn't wear face make-up but this goes on very smoothly and isn't too heavy. It's amazing though. It makes it look like you don't have big pores/black heads. I couldn't believe it the first time I used it. This will make you feel better about their appearance, though!

My pores widened only where I rubbed my face and the rest is poreless. My tzone is fine, and I never had oily skin so this is really depressing!

Thanks so much!! I will definitely take a look at the origins mask=)

Hi makeupsephora,

I suggest using any kind of pore treatment or pore clearing mask that will help to minimize their appearance. You may even want to try a pore smoothing primer that can help:

Philosophy Total Matteness Pore Minimizing and Mattifying Cleanser Mask

Dr. Brandt Skincare Pores No More Pore Refiner

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional
