Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Will Exfolikate be reformulated due to the new laws? If so, how much longer can we buy the current version?

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Yes! Very interested as well to hear what the plans are with Exfolikate now that the microbeads are being restricted! I live in MI, where microbeads have been a MAJOR issue in the Great Lakes. I love Exfolikate, but stopped using it once I found out it contained these. Are there plans to re-formulate with a different manual exfoliant?

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi notcreative, great question! Yes, ExfoliKate is being reformulated to comply with new regulations and will be available in 2017. xo, Kate

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi Kate,

Thank you so much for chatting with us today Smiley Happy

I'm 29 and currently 30 weeks pregnant. Over the past few weeks I've noticed my skin changing and that acne that haunted me as a teen returning with a vengeance on my cheeks. I'm trying not to use anything too harsh on my skin but I want that beautiful pregnancy glow that everyone talks about not the horrible skin from my teens.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi StyleLynn, congratulations on your pregnancy! For the expectant mothers I see at my clinic I always recommend a great product called Hydraclear. It is an acne moisturizer with .5% salicylic acid that will help treat breakouts while keeping the skin hydrated and glowy, but you should always check with your physician before trying new products. xo, Kate

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Do any of your products have growth factors?

Thank you

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi KimberlyKeno! Yes, my product D-Scar has S7 polypeptide which is a human growth hormone that reduces the appearance of scars. D-Scar is a class II medical device that is regulated by the FDA and has been deemed safe to use for scarring. xo, Kate

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

I don't have any scaring.  Is that the only product?

Thank you

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

I have dry skin and have never met a foundation that doesn't settle on some level into my laugh lines, what am I missing? Is it some pre-foundation cream or primer??? Is it retinol? lol What is it?!

I also have pre-aging forehead lines, tips?? Thank you!

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi katpain! I work with some of the top makeup artists in Hollywood and their secret weapon is DermalQuench Liquid Lift, which hydrates skin and plumps lines and wrinkles for a perfect foundation for makeup. xo, Kate

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Wow thanks so much for your prompt response I appreciate it!

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi Kate!  I'm excited about the new Dermal Quench Liquid Lift + Retinol.  I saw you mention on QVC that it should be applied first to fingers, then to face.  Are there any other differences from the original we should be aware of?  Thanks!!

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi beauty2sample! Both DermalQuench Liquid Lift and DermalQuench Liquid Lift + Retinol hydrate, plump and smooth out wrinkles but DQLL+ Retinol also improves skin roughness, firmness, pore size and discoloration. As with all retinol products, I recommend only using at night. For the ultimate hydration treatment, continue using DermalQuench Liquid Lift during the day. xo, Kate

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

I am 32 and recently started to see some signs of wrinkles and just dull skin. Any recommendations for sensitive and oily skin that might help revive and brighten my skin without causing redness or more oiliness?

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi gmarie1311, I feel like I made this product just for you! My Oil Free Moisturizer is perfect for oily skin because it delivers moisture to the skin without oils to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. And moisturized skin looks less dull! xo, Kate

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Thank you for being here for Q&A.

I love Kate Somerville line of products specially CytoCell serum and cream!

My Q: How I can treat visible and deep signs of age (I'm 45) without harsh chemicals and acids? My skin is mixed with dry type, sensitive, reddish and has some darker pigmentation on forehead because of use of cosmetics that were way too photogenic even with proper sunscreens. I'm a huge fan of natural organics, oils, vit.C, plant and sea based products. No mineral make-up works well on my skin ( just clogs pores and feels like a suffocating mask). Can you recommend some daily cream/serum/oil? Thank you both very much. Magdalena from Denver, CO

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi Magdalena, thank you! My Age Arrest line is an anti-aging line for sensitive skin and the products hydrate, reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, improve the appearance of skin firmness and discoloration, and provide anti-oxidant protection. The moisturizer and serum should work beautifully with your skin type. xo, Kate

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

thank you Kate!

for IT staff: this is confusing chat, no email message I got from this chat ( every fee seconds practically) neither from Kate nor from people asking questions redirects to proper and full respond on your web. Your emails link to main chat page with just a headlines of the answer ( not showing the question at all). I have to open many pages between specific chat questions and scroll back and forth to catch Kate's answer and it is not updated or interactive as it should ( plus it comes in reverse order!) very massy

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi Kate,

I use your exflolikate and really like it! Your goats milk cream moisturizer is another favorite of mine. I also have your gentle daily wash (haven't cracked it open yet). I still have hyper-pigmentation from a bad period of cystic acne. I would love to have more of an even skin tone as well as help with anti-aging (I am 25). Is there anything you can recommend to me in your line to use on top of what I'm currently using? Thanks! Smiley Happy

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi Ashleynne, thanks for your question, I love your routine already! I would pepper in my Mega-C Dual Radiance Serum to help improve overall skin tone and boost radiance and even firm skin for those first signs of aging. xo, Kate

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

I am 36 and still experience occasional acne. As I have gotten older I have noticed the blemish marks the acne leaves behind are darker and more noticeable. What can I do to 1.) eliminate the acne and 2.) repair the acne marks left behind? Thank you!

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi iheartark, this is one of the most common skin types I see in my clinic. Try my new EradiKate-To-Go Acne Treatment to help spot treat those blemishes. For acne marks left behind, try my RetAsphere Micro Peel two times a week to help refine and polish surface roughness. That also happens to be my favorite product : ) xo, Kate

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

Hi Kate, Thank you for chatting with us.  I love ExfoliKate, I have been using it for a long time!

What other products from your line would you recommend for someone with combo skin in their 30s?  Thank you!

Re: Live Chat with Kate Somerville and DERMAdoctor!

I second that comment about ExfoliKate and your question!  Also, along those same lines, what types of antioxidants, chemicals, etc. should we be careful not to mix.  I use products that have vitamins (A, C, E) & retinol.
