In need of a skin care product!

Hello!! So i am in need of a skin care product. None in particular, just anything to help even out my skin complexion (whether thats a cleanser or a mask, it doesn't matter)! I have rosy cheeks (fairly red all around-probably rosacea) as well as a few blemishes and rough patches. Also, my skin is Combination. It would be great help! thanks Smiley Happy

Re: In need of a skin care product!

Hi chelcher,

I would recommend an exfoliating product to even out your skin & smooth your dry patches. I suggest Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta® Peel Extra Strength Formula or Kate Somerville ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment.

Make sure to follow that with a good moisturizer like Kate Somerville Quench Hydrating Face Serum and CLINIQUE Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20.

Re: In need of a skin care product!

First Aid Beauty is great for rosacea and dry skin. It's a good base for more potent products (if you skin can take them, use with caution), like glycolic or salicylic acid (for acne and evening out skin tone).

Re: In need of a skin care product!

I wish FAB would have worked for me, it made my skin so much worse than before Smiley Sad I have found argan oil to be the most soothing on my rosacea and eczema.

Re: In need of a skin care product!

Me, too! Finally, I'm not alone. Everyone keeps recommending FAB, but their Ultra Repair Cream made my skin red, bumpy, and itchy. Instead, I love using the Josie Maran Argan Infinity Cream. It really strengthens my skin and evens out my skin tone.

Re: In need of a skin care product!

Oooh, that sucks!

Re: In need of a skin care product!

Thanks everyone so much for all the recommendations!! So so helpful thank you!!! Smiley Happy I'll be sure to give them a go!

Re: In need of a skin care product!

Since you do have Rosacea, a HARSH Mask, such as my Favorite ,GlamGlow Youthmud, will be way, way tooo strong for your skin. It is NOT a Mask that I use more than 2, maybe 3 times a week. I do have a suggestion for you to try that should help greatly. The GOOD GENES TREATMENT, by SUNDAY RILEY. It gets rid of the ruddiness and will greatly reduce all fine lines and major hyper pigmentation to your facial skin. It will even out your skin tone and thicken up your epidermis ( skin ) . It can be used as a clear, 20 minute mask OR for better results, after the 20 minutes, you can rub it in and use it as a cream that will work constantly from the inside out. When I have come across its need to help my sister, within about 10 days, she had perfectly beautiful skin. Smiley Wink

I hope I have been able to help. She also uses The Brand : FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radience Pads as her daily  ( morning, noon, and night ) between using the SUNDAY RILET Clear Mask / Facial Cream.

Give it a Try, She has some more bothering facial problems than just her bad case of Roseaca, but others and IT DRAMATICLY has IMPROVED and kept away ALL of her facial issues WHILE BEING 100% GENTLE !

Let me know how it works for you, simply PM me Smiley Wink

Re: In need of a skin care product!

i have rosacea and i use the glamglow youthmud with no problems. maybe you shouldn't give advice about things you clearly know nothing about...

Re: In need of a skin care product!

Oh, before I forget _ the companies DO make DIFFERENT FORMULAS..... I would HATE for you to get something HARSH.... If in any doubt use the Gentle of the formulations of the pads, starting once a day or Twice-like at night, but be sure you use your SUNDAY RILEY GOOD GENES clear Mask / lotion after 20 minutes to keep your face BEAUTIFULLY SOFT and VERY SUPPLE  Smiley Happy

Re: In need of a skin care product!

PLEASE STOP with YELLING at PEOPLE . IT IS really NOT KIND>

Re: In need of a skin care product!

****** I do want you to know that 100% ARGAN OIL is a OIL that we used on peoples hair to strengthen it , but we always kept it away from the scalp with cotton rols ( like the rolled cotton they use for hair dye, perms, or any chemical treatment.

If you have ANY degree of sensitive skin, please keep ARGAN AWAY from YOUR FACE - IT WILL BURN and possibly cause you a very unwanted rash. There is a very small percentage of People, not just Woman, who can TOLLERATE the HARSHNESS of any ARGAN OILS...

Just an FYI that I thought that if you did not know , you should!  Smiley Happy

Re: In need of a skin care product!

What?

Re: In need of a skin care product!

What? I use argan oil (100%) all the time. I use it on my face, as a cuticle oil. There is nothing harsh about it.

Do you have any studies or actual science to back up your claims? Burn? I hate to see people given this kind of misinformation. Anybody can be sensitive to any product but making sweeping generalizations like this doesn't help anybody.

Re: In need of a skin care product!

Please stop using capital letters. Thanks for being helpful but it is very rude to shout certain things. You can edit your post if you like with that little arrow at the top right of your post. Thanks

Re: In need of a skin care product!

I also use 100% pure argan oil and I have sensitive skin. It never burned me.  Sure some people might react to it but anyone can react to any product at any given time.  I don't think there's anything harsh about it!

Re: In need of a skin care product!

@1SultrySCENTNut

Facial oils, especially the Josie Maran 100% Argan Oil, are actually really great!  You might be referring to the hair oils that have a mixture of other ingredients that are not favorable to use on the face.  If you haven't tried the oils that are specifically formulated for skincare use, I'd highly suggest giving it a shot> http://www.sephora.com/cleansing-oil-face-oil Smiley Very Happy

Re: In need of a skin care product!

I, too, use 100% pure argan oil on my face all the time! And me and my skin, we absolutely love it! Not that it doesn't burn or irritate my skin in any way - it soothes it when it's irritated for whatever reason! It calms the redness and evens out my skin tone, making my skin look healthy and beautiful! Sure some people might have some kind of sensitivity ( or allergy ) to argan oil, just like it's possible with any other product... but to generalize things like this... it's just wrong.

Re: In need of a skin care product!

And again I say...

Re: In need of a skin care product!

So, Argan oil will burn your face?

Re: In need of a skin care product!

Although Sephora no longer carries it, I love Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Facial Cleanser for redness! I have bits of rosacea, but I keep flare-ups almost completely at bay with this cleanser. Normally, I'd take a warm shower, and my face would come out bright red and sort of painful. When I use this cleanser, my skin comes out feeling soothed and even-looking.

I also like the DDG Alpha Beta Peels that Laura recommended. I use those 2-3x a week. They're a great chemical exfoliator, a lot less harsh-feeling than physical exfoliators.

I hope you find something that works for you!

Re: In need of a skin care product!

I was a disbeliever at first, as as you say skeptical...but my friend with roseaca found a clear mask that you leave on for 20 minutes and them can wash it off or rub it in as a face cream. The result : it WORKS WONDERS ( she doesnt even need to use makeup when she uses it in the morning, its a get up and go type of amazing beauty product. it is called " GOOD GENES " by the company SUNDAY RILEY. IT gets rid of her ROSEACA - very rosey cheeks - Exfoliates, Increases Circulation to give you that woken up, instance VIBRANCE and RADIANCE. After about a week it EVENED OUT all her skin, got rid of the blemishes within 2-3 weeks totally and is as gentle as can be.

As soon as my husband is back for the weekend I will be posting pics ( the one thing I am not quite totally sure how to do on the site.

Re: In need of a skin care product!

You only gave it one star in your review of it, though.

Re: In need of a skin care product!

She thinks that by clicking the stars red means you took one away. I don't think she understands how the reviews work.
