Help with my daily routine

I currently use Smashbox BB cream. I use bareminerals moisturizer and laura mercier powder. I have to wash off and re apply every morning. It looks caked on. And also by noon it is patchy. What should I try to add or change to my daily routine? It is so costly and pretty irritating. PLEASE help!?!?

My daily routine is bare minerals purely nourishing moisturizer in the mornings. Then Smashbox BB cream. Laura Mercier powder. And at night I use bare minerals deep cleansing foam and purely nourishing cream. Yes, my skin does get oily throughout the day.

Re: Help with my daily routine

Hi Alexis4215 It sounds like you are experiencing some dehydration.  I would recommend adding a hydrating oil or serum to your regimen.

Josie Maran Argan Oil

Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil

PTR VIZ-1000™ 75% Hyaluronic Acid Complex

Kate Somerville Quench Hydrating Face Serum

Re: Help with my daily routine

Do you recommend Kate Somerville oil free quench or regular?

Re: Help with my daily routine

You can do either.  The regular is going to give more immediate hydration.

Re: Help with my daily routine

I agree too that it sounds like your dehyrated and need to drink alot more water until you can get rehydrated use more moisturizing products like the one's Keely suggested. Hope this helps!

Re: Help with my daily routine

do you reapply your makeup frequently? that's when mine starts to look caked on (esp when i pack on the powder). If that is the case, instead of reappling powder to control the oil, try a setting spray like Urban Decay's de-slick or blotting sheets like Boscias.

I also agree that you may need to moisturize more. Maybe your oil is being produced because your skin is overcompensating from the lack of hydration. I am also very oily, but do have dry patches. what i do is concentrate my lotion on the drier spots and spray the oil absorbing setting spray mostly on my oily spots. a primer may also help with the patches. hope that helps!
