What are the best toners and serums for bacne?

I suffer with terrible bacne along with heat rashes too during the warmer months in summer. So I frequently get acne and blemishes on my back and arms routinely. Since I have been battling with heat rashes as well it’s been causing me to have very irritable skin that’s itchy and red in appearance. Due to my constant picking of acne I do have a lot of discolouration, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and acne scarring all over my back and arms. I really want this to be fixed because I want to be able to wear dresses and t-shirts again during the summer.

I don’t have a specific budget so all recommendations from inexpensive to expensive brands are welcomed. I preferably like products that have ingredients like Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, BHA’s, AHA’s, organic essential oils, Vitamin C, Niacinamide, and Aqua.

Are there any recommended toners and serums that can be used on the back and arms to help with this problem?

@adobij These might be some good options. You can use the hypochlorous acid spray after getting sweaty or working out. It's the same ingredient that's in the Tower 28 Beauty Mini SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray with Hypochlorous Acid 1 oz/ 30 mL , it kills bacteria.

I appreciate you for your product recommendations I will definitely check them out. Especially the Naturium Salicylic Acid Spray as it contains one of my favourite ingredients. The Briotech Topical Skin Spray reminds me of the Differin body spray which I’ve also been interested in buying. But I like how the Briotech Spray also states it’s helpfulness with soothing of redness, irritation, and itchiness which I suffer with habitually. It sounds like it is also heat rash friendly which I really like as well. I will definitely be buying this one for sure.

I do have a few questions in regards to the application of both sprays down below;

Are you able to layer with either the Naturium Salicylic Acid Spray or Briotech Topical Skin Spray in conjunction with a serum or toner? Or are you only able to use it when your sweaty and after a shower. Because sometimes I use serums on my back and arms and would like to know if it’s safe to use the sprays on top of a serum or toner I applied on my back and arms. Also is SPF good to use on top of either spray during the A.M.?

Thanks.

Re: What are the best toners and serums for bacne?

@adobij I would assume they would be safe under SPF. What type of serum where you thinking of layering them over/under? Idk about hypochlorous acid but salicylic acid is a BHA and can increase photosensitivity. I would spray the salicylic acid only at night and use Vitamin C serums under sunscreen during the day.

Here is something helpful:

Also, be sure to not over do it on your skin, especially if it’s sensitive. If you compromise your skin barrier, you’re only going to worsen the situation.

You can layer the salicylic acid (which already an active) with a niacinamide and zinc serum or a product with tranexamic acid (patch test first!). Good Molecules makes a discoloration body cream that has some good ingredients.

Yesss!!! 🙌🏽 I was already thinking of using the Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Body Treatment to layer with over/under. I figured sunscreen would be okay over the layering of serums and moisturizers on the back. Since I do get sweaty throughout the day and especially after I workout, the Briotech spray will come in handy during those times for me. I will definitely consider your recommendation of only spraying Salicylic Acid at night and using Vitamin C serums during the day under sunscreen.

I do already have a niacinamide and zinc serum from The Ordinary brand that I use, so I will continue to add it with my routine. I haven’t used anything with tranexamic but will look into it.

I appreciate you for your advice on not over doing it on my skin to prevent any photosensitivity. It’s a must to be careful and limit as much busy products as possible to get the best results.

Thank you for your help in this. I will for sure follow with a lot that you recommended in my skin journey.

Best of luck @adobij ! Be patient if you don't see any improvement right away. You can try to see a dermatologist if nothing seems to help after a month or so.
