Peeling Sunburn

I was quite silly one day a couple of weeks ago and didn’t wear sunscreen at the beach of a fairly cloudy day. I ended up getting a sunburn on my shoulders/arms and legs/knees, and bought an after-sun lotion to help take care of my skin (originally Sun Bum, but that was too thick and made my skin itch so I used Banana Boat, which sucks bc they’re not cruelty-free). I was applying it to my burned areas multiple times a day and avoided anything that would exfoliate my skin.

After the pain and inflammation subsided, I started transitioning back to my usual body scrubs and lotions (Tree Hut and Method, respectively). Even with my attempts to take care of my skin, it’s peeling and dry and no lotions or oils seem to provide enough hydration to stop it from looking dry and flaky and feeling a little itchy. What products do y’all recommend to make the peeling slow down or stop?

@HannahLes Have you tried aloe vera?  They sell it in a tube at the grocery store like Sprouts and Trader Joe's or you can use it from the plant.
