Switching from FAB face oil...suggestions?

Hi!

I've used FAB oat and hemp seed oil for years, and loved it, but I need something new. I've recently switched my skincare line to Estée Lauder, and to my knowledge, they do not offer an oil. I live in a very harsh climate, and face oil has been crucial, prior to the application of serum. Any ideas? I looked at Charlotte Tilbury firming and plumping, but it has mixed reviews. I have dry skin and am happily ageing. Thanks!

Hi @LeaLL ! I’m curious: what’s making you switch from First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair® Oat & Hemp Seed Dry Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL ? Is there something about it your skin no longer likes?

The only oil I use on my 50something mostly-dry combo facial skin these days is The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL, and only during winter (I live in Chicago; this winter’s been kinda mild compared to our usual subzero Januarys, though the month’s not over yet 😅). But on my hands and nails, I often use Byoma Hydrating Recovery Oil; it’s a nice blend of beneficial oils, squalane, licorice root extract, and a ceramide. It does also contain blue tansy oil; calling that out in case your skin’s sensitive to it.

Also consider Good Light Alphabet Oil, a fairly new oil blend that contains turmeric, ascorbic acid, ferulic acid, neem extract, eggplant extract, and retinyl palmitate. That last ingredient may or may not be a dealbreaker, depending on the rest of your skincare routine. I use retinaldehyde nightly, so I don’t need an additional form of vitamin A on my face—which is why I don’t use Alphabet Oil on my face. Your mileage may vary.

Re: Switching from FAB face oil...suggestions?

Hi! 👋

If you’re looking for a new face oil, I’d recommend:

  • Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate – Lightweight and hydrating.
  • Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil – Great for dry, ageing skin.
  • Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Oil – Nourishing and packed with antioxidants.

Pairing an oil with Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Serum could work beautifully! Hope this helps! 😊
