Skincare in Early 40s…HELP!

I am 43 years old. I have been using Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior serum and Age-Arrest Moisturizer. The moisturizer is no longer available and the serum keeps increasing in price (over $30 more than when I started buying it!). I am wanting to try new anti-aging products, but don’t know where to start! I have normal to dry skin and hate sticky feeling creams and serums. Looking for mid-price range ($75) products. Any recommendations are appreciated!!

I really like the Kate Somerville products, but you'll find there are no true winners.  The products keep being discontinued, and it's always onto the next product for Kate!

I love the Strivectin line. I’m in my 40s and they have great anti aging products.

Hi, 44yo former esthetician here. These are some of my faves lately. I started with samples from Sephora in store. If you order these direct from Dr. Dennis Gross website they constantly have discounts and free shipping. The lactic acid C is definitely one of the best I’ve ever tried. Vitamin C is what we all need but it can be irritating and hard to deliver. Somehow this product figured it all out. (It is certainly a skin Ceuticals dupe but absolutely better IMO and more cost effective.) I have sensitive, oily, reactive, hyper pigmented and, I guess now, mature skin. This Vitamin C has changed my skin and I love the physical spf, no white cast and not overly greasy. Highly, highly recommend both! Don’t use the Vit C without the sunscreen, they should be used together.

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare All-Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 1...

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Vitamin C Lactic 15% Firm & Bright Serum 1 oz / 30 mL

Hope you enjoy!

Re: Skincare in Early 40s…HELP!

I have used a select few of the Dr. Gross products for a long period of time.  I finally gave up on the products because there was never even a slight improvement for the years, and money I put into the products.

Re: Skincare in Early 40s…HELP!

@dewbot , Some of the best “anti-aging” products aren’t marketed as anti-aging and are great quality and wallet friendly! Best thing anyone can do for skincare is sunscreen!!! Mineral or chemical either is good just depends on the individual. I prefer mineral myself. Every drugstore and Walmart,Target, etc carry fantastic inexpensive sunscreen. Sunscreen that I personally use from Sephora are: Kosas DreamBeam Silicone-Free Mineral Sunscreen SPF 40 with Ceramides and Peptides , Supergoop! Mineral Mattescreen SPF 40 Mineral Sunscreen 1.5 oz / 45 mL .
Same goes for moisturizer. From Olay, CerVa, Nuetrogena, They all have good quality ingredients. You need ceramides and peptides along with the moisturizer. Some really great ones from Sephora that I use on my normal skin: The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA 3.3 oz/ 100 mL , The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + HA Serum The INKEY List Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Hydrating Face Serum The INKEY List Peptide Moisturizer 1.7 oz/ 50 mL Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ Skin Barrier Moisturizing Cream 1.7 oz / 50 mL Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Firming Refillable Moisturizer Youth To The People Superfood Air-Whip Lightweight Face Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultra Facial Refillable Moisturizing Cream with Squalane 1.7 oz / 50 mL  a really great way to try any brand is to check and see if they have a starter bundle or mini version before investing too much! Best of luck!
