Powder Blush vs Cream Blush for Mature Skin

I am 52, but thanks to good genes, I have minimal lines and wrinkles. I would describe my complexion as normal: not as oily as it once was but not at all dry. I've always used powder blush, but most of the articles I've read state that women over 50 should choose cream blush. Because I used to have very oily skin and still tend to have a shiny face, I'm leery to try cream.

I'm looking for advice from those with mature skin like mine.

I too am in my 50's and I only wear powder blush and I get many compliments on my makeup. If you are comfortable using powder blush and are still satisfied with the outcome, I would continue to do so.

Re: Powder Blush vs Cream Blush for Mature Skin

I don't have mature skin as of yet, but I feel if powder blush has been working for you, and doesn't seem to age you, keep using it. Cream blush is really nice for a natural look, but can disappear very quickly if you have oily or combo skin. If you're interested in cream blush, maybe give it a try just to see if you like it. There's nothing wrong with adding another product to your beauty arsenal 🙂 . Everyone's skin is different, and if you haven't had any problems with your powder blushes, I don't see why you would need to change it. I'd also note, just because a product is a cream, doesn't mean it can't dry out your skin. So creams aren't always better, it really depends on ingredients, and your skin's chemistry. Hopefully someone will more mature skin can jump in on this topic.
