Post in Age Defiers

I will be 30, I need a skin care regimen.

I will be turning 30 this year.  I have never had a skin care regimen. I just floated around on products that i would find on sale.  I have dry, sensitve skin that is oily around my t-zone.  I used philosophy pure facial wash but it doesnt do much. I also tried the hope in a jar and it broke my face out in little red/white acne bumps and made my skin itch like mad w/rash included.  I need a good antiaging skin regimen.  Please recommend me something, thank you!

I think that you only need two products because the least amount of products you use on your skin the better.  You need a gentle, yet effective cleanser and a good anti-aging cream.

Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser is my favorite cleanser because it is made of all natural ingredients and is soap-free so it's gentle on sensitive skin.  A naturally effective blend of grape extracts, sage, and chamomile provide vitamins, purifying benefits, and soothing effects, removing makeup and impurities while improving overall complexion wellbeing. From the first use, your complexion will be visibly more toned and radiant. This wash works for all skin types, and is especially tuned to the needs of combination and sensitive skin.  You can find it here:  http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P12978&categoryId=B70

I think a great anti-aging product for you to start out on is Clarins Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Cream – All Skin Types which is a skincare treatment specifically designed for younger women (in their 20s and 30s) that not only prevents, but visibly corrects early signs of aging.  This product helps to keep imperfections at bay with its dermal-epidermal junction repair and radiance-boosting action.  It reinforces your skin with directly delivered, continuous antioxidant defense, plus this it delivers corrective and enhancing skin benefits.  It has been dermatologist-tested and is non-comedogenic so it won't cause breakouts.  You can read all about it here:  http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P242915&categoryId=B70

Hope this helps!
Have a great day!

You should try REN's Clear Calm 3 Clarifying Cleanser. I have a similar skin type to yours only I'm 23. My skin is very sensitive to climate changes. I use REN's cleanser and I use Murad's Skin Perfecting Lotion. As for treatment, I use Philosophy's All-over acne treatment and its spot treatment. I'm sure you can sample anything you like, but be sure to check out REN's acne line. Good stuff. I hope this helps and good luck!

I recommend the Ole Henriksen eye cream called Fresh Start. Otherwise you should consider a nice cleanser, moisturizer and sun protection (keep it simple). I like the NARS skin care, and Ole Henriksen Vitamin C Truth serum for treatment (they apparently have good basic skincare too), and for keeping acne breakouts at away I use the SAMPAR mask (it's magic). For cleanser/moisturizer basics I am about to try a new line which I've heard great things about called Cosmedix, but as I mentioned the Fresh Start eye cream and SAMPAR mask is something I won't replace/change (I have an oily T-zone too and this SAMPAR clear solutions mask cleans it up with great/maintained effects for days afterward).

I just turned 29 a couple weeks ago, and I am obsessed with skin care products.  I always joke that I am more afraid of wrinkles than anything else!  I love DDF.  I use their Oil Free Moisturizing Dew SPF 15 every morning, along with Vitamin E eyecream from The Body Shop.  I also have a Clarisoic that I love soooo much!  I use it every morning with the 5% Glycolic Wash.  http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P1809&categoryId=RPYMAL&shouldPaginate=true

I also use the Glycolic 10% Exfoliating Moisturizer at night and the eyecream again.

I also love FAB Facial Radiance Pads, especially when I am lazy and don't wash my face.  Sometimes I will just use the pads and eyemakeup remover.  One pad is enough for my whole face.

As for facewash at night, I rotate depending on how my skin feels.  I have a Nutriganics facewash from The Body Shop that I use and Philosophy's Purity.  (I hate Philosophy's Hope in a Jar.  The smell is too strong, and I don't like how thick it is.)

My skin is sensitive and turns red easily, but none of the DDF products have bothered it.  Just make sure you follow the directions when you start with the glycolic stuff as it can irritate your skin.  If nothing else, I would get a good moisturizer with SPF for day and the Glycolic Face wash.  Bosica also makes a great SPF day cream that is oil free.

I don't see the DDF with SPF on the Sephora website right now.  Hopefully it's not discontinued, or I'll be in a crisis!  Smiley Happy

I also highly recommend the Clarisonic.  I chronically raise my eyebrows and make faces and with the use of that and the facewash, they are much less noticeable.  Totally worth the money!  I'm still looking for a serum that I can apply probably only to my forehead.  I just got the Ole Henrikson Three Little Wonders, so hopefully that will make even more of a dent.

Good luck!
