I need help with foundation

I am in my early 40s. I want a light Dewey coverage, but I have hyper pigmentation and fine lines.

I usually go with it cosmetics cc cream, but it seems to be cakey after a while, even the illuminating one.

any suggestions?

Re: I need help with foundation

Hi girl!!! I recently struggled with it looking cakey after a few hours on the skin. What helped me was skin prep and making sure my products worked well together. I dermaplane once a week, to get off the peach fuzz to make sure the makeup is hitting my skin and not sticking to peach fuzz. I also make sure i put a moisturizer on before my primer but make sure you wait for the moisturizer to be absorbed and dry on the skin before going in with your primer. Make sure your primer and your foundation both have the same base either water or silicon. My products are water based so I use armani beauty luminous silk foundation and the REFY Glow and Sculpt Face Serum Primer with Niacinamide 1.4 oz / 40 mL Also make sure that the brushes you're using are clean. Don't do too many layers of product so don't put foundation under the eyes and follow up with concealer on top i leave under my eyes without foundation and only use concealer under the eyes to avoid it getting cakey. When you set with powder, dab the excess off on ur hand so you don't put too much powder, otherwise it will dry the makeup out and look cakey. After I spray my setting spray i use a clean beauty blender to pat the setting spray into the skin and really make the products melt together seamlessly.

Let me know if you try and how it turns out!!

There could be a few things making your makeup look cakey @annietwo2

Using to much product can do that or even not preparing your skin (like exfoliation and moisturizing)
