Help! Starting over!

HI all I'm a newbie here.  I have been battling eye infections in both eyes.  (not pink eye)  My Ophthalmologist told me to throw away ALL of my make-up and start over.  Well some of it was for the best because it was older than my son who is in college lol.  Anyhow,  I'm in my 40's and starting to get fine lines and am looking for recommendations for EVERYTHING!  I currently use Meaningful Beauty for skin care and is doing ok, but skin is still aging faster than I prefer.  I have to throw away an Urban Decay Naked pallet that is almost 2 years old. ughhh  I did like that!

I have a medium skin tone and love to wear makeup especially eyes and lips.  Any recommendations without having to take out a loan to pay for it????

Are the more expensive brands really better than the better quality drugstore brands?

Re: Help! Starting over!

@Anonymous I hope you are feeling better! It's a great time to be starting over since there are so many good holiday skincare gift sets right now!!! Sunday Riley, drunk elephant, ole henrickson, fresh, etc all have amazing kits you might like!

For makeup you might want to invest in some of your favorites (lots of brand websites have deals right now so you may want to check that out!) but I really think you might love a subscription box. It would be a great way to build up your collection and get out of your box and try new things. I know there is await list but I highly recommend joining the boxycharm wait list - its 5 full size products for $21 a month. Alternatively - you could check out the allure box, from the spoikers it looks like they are getting a sunday riley cream in January which basically pays for the entire box!

RE: Help! Starting over!

Hi. Gosh, I’m sorry to hear about your eye conditions. You mentioned Urban Decay- there are some eye and lip pallettes on sale right now. Beautiful beautiful colors. As far as skincare, you mentioned anti- aging, so I’d suggest products by Sunday Riley, Belif, Origins, and Fresh. Sephora Rich Cream is a fantastic, rich moisturizer with hyarulonic acid. Exfoliating with alpha hydroxy acids will help smooth out your skin’s surface. I hope other commenters will be able to provide further suggestions! Good luck.

Thank you for your reply!  I'd like to get out of my box and try some new things (within reason) I will definitely look into the products you mentioned!!!!
