Foundation for mature skin?

I am 45 and searching for a foundation that doesn't settle into fine lines, exaggerate pores or slide off your face half way through the day.  Any suggestions?

Re: Foundation for mature skin?

I am 55 and throw my vote in for Two Faced Born This Way foundation.

I use a nice brush so it doesn't displace my primer and it doesn't settle in lines or make my pores look  worse than they are.

Im on the same mission. Trying anything I can get my hands on, to give my the same face I had a couple years ago. I can honestly say about 6 months after I turned 40 everything changed. Ive tried so many brands, even airbrush..(which was a disaster) So far, these are what works on meand dont settle into lines and make them worse than before. It cosmeticsCC, and Im loving Lancome Renergie lift foundation. I would recommend It cosmetics line smoothing primer under either one. A good idea to find what you are looking for, would be to request samples of 2 or 3different brands, before comitting to any product. Sephora is good about letting you have samples before buying. This way you can see what works best for you. Also, a bunch of useless products arent wasted. Im notsure Sephora carries Lancome, but any makeup counter will let you have a take home sample of their product...if you ask. If you havent already, its very important to get in a skincare routine. Cleanse, tone, and hydrate. You will have a much smoother result and slow down any further aging, keeping your skin hydrated. I hope this helps.

RE: Foundation for mature skin?

I really like Too Faced Born this way for the summer. I spray my face with smashbox primer and sponge on the foundation. I have combination skin and this works great in the warmer months. It controls the oil and lasts all day. In the winter, I use IT cosmetics cc cream. In the winter, I need more hydration and also lasts all day. Both never settle into the lines. I am 51

Re: Foundation for mature skin?

45 is hardly "mature!" I'm 61 and would suggest something by IT Cosmetics - most of their products contain anti-aging and protective ingredients. I really like their CC cream, but I find that the light is too light for me and the medium is too dark.  Lately, I've been mixing the medium with some chemical (zinc) sunscreen, and it lightens it to just the right shade for me. I'm hoping that they come out with more shades in the future. I also really like Bobbi Brown's BB cream, but it's even more expensive than the IT Cosmetics product!  If you're not on a tight budget, either of these products might be what you're looking for.

My mom and I love Marc Jacobs Genius  Gel. It doesn't settle down on any wrinkles my moon is 58 and her face looks so smooth with this foundation on my 34 years old skin looks perfect too. Get a sample I'm sure you will love it too.

Re: Foundation for mature skin?

First off I'd say you wanna treat your skin before applying foundation so whatever you wear looks its best. A hyaluronic acid moisturizer to plump up the skin would be good. I'm 37 and I use Guerlain Lingerie de Peau applied with a beauty blender over sunscreen (and moisturizer).  I find that foundations that don't need to be set with powder look best because once I add powder I look older than I am. If you have oily skin, Lancôme Idole Teint is great. The bottled version is matte without aging you and the one in ththe cushion compact had a more radiant finish that definitely doesn't accentuate lines.  My mom is 63 and I got her using Dior Dreamskin and Dior Nude foundation. She loves it. She likes how the dreamskin makes her skin look even without makeup and the Dior nude foundation has a pretty finish that's not too matte so it doesn't settle or exaggerate lines. I hope that helps!

I have tried a few because I have the same concerns as you. I find bare minerals matte powder foundation to be the best! Primer first, the the foundation, blush and setting powder. Looks great.

Re: Foundation for mature skin?

Urban Decay Naked Skin has been my go to for the past few years. I had to sample a lot of different ones, which Sephora was really great about.

Re: Foundation for mature skin?

Amore Pacific Cushion Compact, if you're ok with light coverage.  Skin care ingredients and SPF.

Re: Foundation for mature skin?

Guerlain Is amazing!

RE: Re: Foundation for mature skin?

Which ones from Guerlain?

Re: Foundation for mature skin?

I like the Nars tinted moisturizers as well as the IT Brand CC+ Color Correcting Cream.  I'm 55 years old and these two products work well with my skin.
