@XsnowprincessX  Did your doctor(s) recommend any specific cleansers, or at least recommend a brand or 2, or maybe suggest a type of cleanser (gel, cream, foam, oil-free, etc.)? Or did they just recommend “get a cleanser that costs more than Neutrogena”? They should’ve given you more helpful info than that, especially since higher price doesn’t automatically mean a product’s better for you.  I also get hormonal acne. I’m dealing with a jawline flair right now, actually. I alternate between 2 Paula’s Choice cleansers, but not specifically to help with that type of acne. Paula’s Choice CLEAR Pore Normalizing Cleanser contains salicylic acid, so it does help with random pimples elsewhere on my face and helps keep my oily zone in check. My other cleanser is Paula’s Choice Hydralight Cleanser, which is my non-BHA face wash. I use these products because they don’t strip my mostly-dry combo skin or gunk up my oily zone, and they contain nothing that irritates my finicky skin.

Hi @lindsayhotrod ,   I also love the DERMALOGICA - Precleanse Cleansing Oil. It is great for breaking down makeup, SPF, and oils from the day. My other favorite is BOSCIA - MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil, I find this to be very soothing and calming for my skin.    Best regards, Laurie

I'm not super familiar with that brand of cleanser, but if it's gentle and works for you then great, @Notrealguru. I'd absolutely recommend a double cleanse to take off sunscreen and makeup. Do you currently have a first cleanser? Personally, I find cleansing in the morning to not work well for my skin, but everyone is different. I also wouldn't use BHA more than once a day. So possibly, just rinse with water and follow with moisturizer and sunscreen in the a.m. and then double cleanse, BHA, moisturize in the evening.

@KarlySarha Sure, you can use both; there are even retinol formulas with vitamin c in them. The key is just making sure your skin can handle the retinol, since this sounds like your first time using it. I'd start it once a week, and work up from there slowly.

@Mary2412 I would try using either PHILOSOPHY - Purity Made Simple Cleanseror FIRST AID BEAUTY - Pure Skin Face Cleanseras regular cleansers, but then a 2 to 3 times a week, use KATE SOMERVILLE - ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatmentto help with the clogged pores. Alternatively, a good clay mask twice a week can help cut down on oiliness and clogging.

They do different things - the Caudalie Vinoperfect Glycolic Essence has glycolic acid and is more of an exfoliator, and the Fresh Black Tea Kombucha Antioxidant Essence has sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) and is more of a hydrator. The SK-II is probably closer to the Fresh essence. But, I don't recommend it because it's fragranced, which can harm your skin over time. Instead, try the PRIMERA - Miracle Seed Essence, which is a hydrator/ferment, similar to the SK-II essence but less expensive.
