I don’t know if it works for every person in this world or how it will effect each and everyone of you but here is my 2 cents don’t @ me. Even though this is not Sephora branded try “Health & Beauty Aztec Indian Healing Clay” mask and follow the directions on the container for delicate or regular/normal skin. You can mix it with water but it is known to work best with “Organic raw-unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the mother”. I have combination skin + acne and this has helped me a lot. But be hasty with it if you have dry skin especially because it can dry your skin out I can’t stress enough please moisturize and you don’t have to use the mask everyday. Also try a toner with no alchol like “Thayers witch hazel in rose petal” and it has aloe vera in it that will help redness and overall skin pigmentation. Remember that things take time, don’t just work overnight and this might not work for you but that’s okay you’ll find what will in the end. 💯🤯🤯😅😊😁😁

@hannahtbloom I have the same problems and adding an acid serum/ exfoliator and as others have mentioned a retinol/retinA have worked wonders for me. I personally use FARMACY - HONEYMOON GLOW AHA Resurfacing Night Serum with Hydrating Honey + Gentle Flower Acidsevery other night (you may want to use it less often and dilute it in your moisturizer to start) and DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni™ Retinol Creamabout twice a week (another product you should start slow on- only once a week). It took about 1 1/2 months to really see a lot of progress but my skin is finally back to how it used to be minus a couple scars that haven't totally faded yet and I am honestly so happy with the results. Less expensive options from the Ordinary might be adding their glycolic toner to your lineup every couple days instead of the Farmacy and their granactive retinoin (?) emulsion in place of the Drink Elephant. While I know different things work for different people, though acids and retinols are sort of a catch-all. I personally have never had good luck with salycilic acids or sulfur treatments (with the exception of the Eradicate foaming mask) but they still may be worth trying for you. Finally as someone who grew up in the dairy state, while I am obviously biased, my hormonal acne kicked in well after I had stopped drinking/consuming much dairy products. Again, worth trying- different things for different people- but it's probably not the main source of your skin issues

@geethab90 I haven't had this problem but at a week out it's probably still too soon to tell if it's purging or reacting poorly. I would give it another week if possible (IDK how big the sample is) and see what happens. If the breakouts get worse, definitely stop using it. If they get better/stay the same for a week it might just be purge

I am ☹️I started using 3 or 4 weeks ago I think. I did start using both at the same time but not daily. I noticed one or two cysts when I started using and then it got worse last week. Last week is when I started using the glycolic acid daily and started using the other one for more than 3mins. I used to just use the BHA peel for 3mins once a week and the other day I left it on for 6mins and it’s the second time for the week. I also never use them together.

@azanm I know you've already gotten lots of responses, but wanted to weigh in with my experience as well.  I am oily and acne-prone.  Not severe acne, no cystic pimples and maybe 3 or 4 at a time on my face at once.  I tried the Ole Henriksen Balance products which are for oil control and they made me break out terribly.  I had heard a lot of good things about Paula's Choice, so I gave their acne line a try.  It's the CLEAR system with comes with a cleanser, exfoliant (BHA) and benzoyl peroxide lotion.  It cleared up my pimples in 3 days and I've had much fewer since I started.  I have heard this can be drying but it hasn't been for me.  I think it cleared up my face more quickly than it has for other people.  It's $48 for the full set on the Paula's Choice website.  There's a travel size there and on Amazon for $13.  The travel size lasted about 2 weeks. I cannot recommend this highly enough. https://www.paulaschoiceDOTcom/skin-concerns/acne

@Rochelle16 Here's the review for Kiehl's Ultra Toner for All Skin Types from beautypedia (2/5 stars):SpoilerUltra Facial Toner, for All Skin Types has its name all wrong, because if this is the ultra (as in “ultimate”) toner for all skin types, then the formulators at Kiehl’s haven’t updated their notes since, oh, the early 1970s. This toner for normal to dry skin consists primarily of water, slip agents, emollient, and preservatives. The tiny amount of vitamin C and plant oils doesn’t compensate for the ho-hum ingredients that precede them. And here's the review for the one Oil-Free version (2/5 stars): SpoilerThis fragrance-free toner for all skin types couldn’t be more basic, and ends up being a waste of money, even though it doesn’t contain problematic ingredients like alcohol or fragrant oils as many toners do.What’s missing (and what your skin needs from a toner) is a range of skin-repairing ingredients along with antioxidants and ingredients that encourage healthier skin cells. This toner is mostly water, glycerin, and preservative. Kiehl’s included a couple of novel plant extracts, but neither of them has research proving any benefit for skin, so they amount to a “why bother?” rather than a must-have, and the amount is so small they end up being merely window dressing. The tiny amount of sodium hyaluronate (a good repairing ingredient found naturally in healthy skin) is likely too low to provide any benefit for your skin. Please see our list of Best Toners for examples of formulas that make adding a toner to your daily routine an excellent idea.Pros:Fragrance- and alcohol-free.Suitable for all skin types.Cons:Expensive for what amounts to a below-standard formula.Lacks an impressive range of repairing and antioxidant ingredients to help skin become healthier and act younger.Doesn’t add much to your skin-care routine. This fragrance-free toner for all skin types couldn’t be more basic, and ends up being a waste of money, even though it doesn’t contain problematic ingredients like alcohol or fragrant oils as many toners do.What’s missing (and what your skin needs from a toner) is a range of skin-repairing ingredients along with antioxidants and ingredients that encourage healthier skin cells. @Brezzy1234 Are you leaving the micellar water on your skin?  SpoilerWhat about micellar water cleansers? These liquid cleansers resemble large bottles of makeup remover and are, in many ways, similar to water-based makeup removers that contain mild surfactants. “Micelles” are minute structures that have to do with how surfactants (that is, the cleansing ingredients) combine with water; it is a way to formulate a cleanser that interacts with oils and debris to wash them away. Micellar technology is effective, but nothing special. Other than ease of use, this type of cleanser doesn’t have a strong edge over others. Here’s how to use micellar water:1. Apply the watery liquid to a cotton pad.2. Gently stroke over the face (avoid pulling skin because, over time, that will cause skin to sag!), replacing each pad with a fresh one until you do not see any makeup or dirt on the pad.3. With most micellar waters, the directions indicate that you don’t need to rinse, but because leaving even mild cleansing agents on skin for longer than necessary isn’t ideal, we strongly recommend following with a regular rinse-off cleanser or rinsing with plain tap water before doing the rest of your skincare routine. What about micellar water cleansers? These liquid cleansers resemble large bottles of makeup remover and are, in many ways, similar to water-based makeup removers that contain mild surfactants. “Micelles” are minute structures that have to do with how surfactants (that is, the cleansing ingredients) combine with water; it is a way to formulate a cleanser that interacts with oils and debris to wash them away. @Becs27 acne can be common when stopping BC. Yes, hormonal tends to show up in the chin, but it's not limited to there. Ask your doctor/derm/obgyn about spironolactone. It's a pill (not BC) that regulates oil, which helps acne. Your hormones are still balancing out, hence the different skin type.

@pmha Acne hyperpigmentation could be treated with vitamin C and chemical exfoliants, but textural scarring like ice pick scars or boxcar scars can't be treated with topical skincare products and like @sockmagnet says, I highly recommend consulting a dermatologist to discuss treatment (e.g. laser treatments). The cost may seem high but you'll see more improvement than spending the exact same amount on skincare.

Hi there @kbee2015,Your skin is possibly going through these changes due to the weather change. North Carolina's humidity level is almost 95% which is very high - you should be exposed to about 50%. Do you have a dehumidifier and humidity reader in your home? This might help. For now, ensure you are cleansing your skin twice daily and do a mild exfoliation once daily with a lightweight moisturizer; consider DERMALOGICA - Special Cleansing Gel,DERMALOGICA - Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator and DERMALOGICA - Active Moist MoisturizerThis basic routine can help reset your skin while you adjust the humidity in your home.Hope this helps!

Definitely try to stick to mild products to prevent increasing the redness on your skin. I have a lot of redness too on my cheek area and chin. Avoid using mechanical exfoliants such as coarse scrubs and harsh brushes bexuase I found these to further increase my redness. Niacinamide with Zinc, Azelaic acid, and chemical exfoliators (salicylic acid (a BHA) with AHAs such glycolic acid and lactic acid) have all helped decrease my redness. A note about the chemical exfoliators- if you have never used them before, start out slow and increase usage to 2-3 times a week so you don't strip your skin too much. I really like the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Skin Peels as a chemical exfoliator but they are very pricey. I will be trying out the Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution to see if it gives similar results
