@missxmas depending on how pink/red, I use a color corrector first, like the URBAN DECAY - Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid, and then I put a concealer on top. I like the IT COSMETICS - Bye Bye Breakout™ Full-Coverage Concealerbbecause it has some acne-fighting ingredients that I find makes a noticeable difference in drying the pimple out during the day. For application, I actually wash my hands and then dab it lightly with my ring finger until it’s covered and blended. I take a fluffy face brush with no product, or a tiny bit of powder on it, and dust it over to buff out the edges without moving the product around or blending it out. I used to use a sponge but I found that I ended up blending it out too much and the coverage wasn’t what I wanted it to be

To find your shade, go to a sephora at an hour that isn’t busy to get help from someone (thats what I did when I bought my first liquid foundation). When its crowded, they have less time to spare for each customer. As for your skin type, which is the same as mine, search for oil free foundations, concealer, moisturizer, etc. Search for foundations that don’t contain talc & phtalates, apparently its bad for acne!! For foundations & concealer, always make sure what kind of coverage it provides (light, medium, full) to cover redness, dark circles, acne,  etc. Cuz yes some concealers cover close to nothing lol. For eye shadow, start with neutral « boring » colors to get better at it. Thats all the advice I can give you!! I’m still a novice too so above are all the things I wish I knew before

I have the same problem! I recently started using the Ole Henriksen Oil control cleanser. It hasn’t broken me out and normally new cleansers wll in the first few days of using it. The only thing I’ve noticed is it’s a little bit drying so you’d have to use a good moisturizer. Also the Philosophy Purity cleanser is pretty good i used it for awhile and it never broke me out, it’s also less drying! If you’re looking for something more affordable black soap works wonders from a beauty supply store. Palmer’s anti acne medicated soap is my absolute favourite, it works wonders to clear acne just make sure you’re not allergic to sulfur because thats what the soap is made out of.

I hate to say it, but one of the products you’re using could be giving you acne or clogging your pores! I had the same exact issue, I’m almost30 and suddenly cystic acne popped up this year only on my lower half of my face (cheeks mostly and not my nose). Turns out, by process of elimination and researching ingredients...my #Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil was the cause! Yeah, the thing I *thought* was all natural and helping my acne was the cause! You need to start fresh and clean or your skin will get worse tbh. Looking at the products you mentioned I would off the bat assume the Philosophy one is a no no for acne prone skin, most of that brand is perfumes and NOT good for yourskin unless you’re in the mature demographic. Tatcha seems good, but I’d still be weary about the ingredients because Silicones, anything endingin “CONE” like Dimethicone can cause or bring up acne and clogged pores. Silicone ingredients are in almost every makeup and skincare productthese days it’s terrible, but most people don’t have any issues by them. I would recommend getting a super natural/clean cleanser, even a drug store one like Cetaphil Foaming Cleanser and a simple toner like witch hazel or Rose Water spray. Try to only use ONE of those products likethe Tatcha’s and then see how your skin does. Put ALL the other products aside for now. If you wear makeup get a mineral powder like Tarte Mineral Airbrushed Foundation or Mineral Fusions they sell online. If you still have acne or irritation then it must be from an ingredient in the Tatcha products you’re using. Make sure to check out your hair conditioner and hair products as well since they all touch the face and skin. I really hope you find solutions, it took me over a year to. Good luck.

Hi @Carmona, I havent used this myself however one of my sisters has - KATE SOMERVILLE - D-Scar™ Scar Diminishing Serum, she also had some acne scaring and a tiny bit of hyperpigmentation as a result of accutane. I remember the results not being immediate, she was using it twice daily and it was about a month before you could see a difference, but you COULD see a difference.

Hi - my skin really responded well to products with salicylic acid in. I use the Cerave SA Cleanser and lotion, using the cleanser with my Clarisonic. I also use the Origins Night a mins skin refining oil, which also contains SA. Using an oil sounds counter intuitive but I was stripping my skin so much that when I started using oil I saw the biggest change and it helped balance my skin.  CLinique do an acne solutions bb creme and foundation. the best advice I had was to treat my skin kindly, no harsh scrubs or treatments. Go makeup free as much as possible, always cleanse thoroughly and to use oils and SA.  Hope whatever you do it works out for you x

Your sister was perscribed the same stuff I was for my acne! Personally, I've only been using the BP every other day so my skin doesn't dry out so much.  My go-to mositurizer in the morning has been Mario Badescu oil-free lotion but at night is when I try to moisturize the most with facial oil and a heavy night cream.
