I am honestly so exhausted and have no idea what to do with my acne. I have been trying for years to clear my skin up and any pimple I get turns into a dark mark. I have gone to multiple dermatologists and feel like none of the acids have been helping me. I’ve used tretnoin, clindamycin, azaleic acid, dapsone, and adapalene still I don't know what to do. I am currently using adapalene a few times a week, dapsone a few times a few, kiehl oil free moisturizer, and TULA Skincare Mineral Magic Oil-Free Mineral Sunscreen Fluid Broad Spectrum SPF 30 UVA + UVB Protection 1.52 oz / 45 mL is there anything I should add? Please let me know. Is there anything I should add?

Hi! I am in my late 20s and I feel like my CeraVe and Ceraphil moisturizers are not working for me anymore. I have EXTREMELY sensitive/acne prone skin, combination skin, and seborrhea (similar to eczema). Does anyone have any recommendations for a clean moisturizer?

@laurlay06 You might try finding a good vitamin C serum as well as a niacinamide serum to help out with the acne spots. Both are known to help reduce hyperpigmentation.

@Albanin Alpha arbutin does not treat acne. If you’re trying to reduce (clear up) or control acne, then no, The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA Hyperpigmentation Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL won’t do that. Alpha arbutin can reduce dark marks left behind by acne, though. That’s because this ingredient treats hyperpigmentation. So if you just need something to help fade dark acne scars, The Ordinary’s alpha arbutin serum may be helpful.

@startingmakeup When you posted about this last Thursday, you seemed sure you have “fungal acne” and I posted a reply (in your older thread) based on that assumption. But if you’re actually not sure what type of acne you have, you need to see a dermatologist or your primary care doctor to have your skin diagnosed. None of us here on BIC are medical doctors who can diagnose your skin. A derm or other doctor can do that and recommend treatment for your particular skin.

Hi @max14572 , Maybe you are having an allergic reaction? If you tried any new products before you had breakouts, definitely do not use them again. Also, try identifying what type of acne you have. If you have pus-filled acne that is red at the base, you may have pustules. If you're acne is solid and deeper, you might have nodules. If you acne is a combination of those two things, then you may have cystic acne. Make sure to wash your face with a gentle cleanser and use oil-free and non-comedogenic moisturizers. To treat your acne, use a drying Benzoyl peroxide lotion (i recommend the Neutrogena AM stubborn acne treatment). But if you're acne looks and feels more serious than a normal breakout, I highly recommend going to see a dermatologist to see what you can do. I hope this helps!
