Hi @Zq0011, I have dark spots / hyperpigmentation from acne and also sun spots and I've found EADEM Milk Marvel Dark Spot Serum with Niacinamide and Vitamin C 1 oz/ 30 mL to be very effective for me. My first introduction to the product was when Sephora had a promo gwp of a 14-day (I think it was a 14-day) supply of the product. I applied it after cleansing morning and night. It didn't remove all my PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) and sun spots within that time but it noticeably reduced their appearance. So much so that I purchased a full size. I notice a difference in my skin tone and appearance when I'm consistent with this product, along with wearing SPF every day. My skin is normal-to-dry so I exfoliate (or try to remember to do so) once a week as well.

Acne is super annoying and even painful at times. It’s my nemesis after having to deal with varying degrees of for over a decade. The good new is most of these look like white heads and there are much better options than there were 15 years ago. Trying a BHA like Paula choice toner is as great idea! It didnt work for me either. Try a BHA/ salicylic cleanser or benzoyl peroxide one. CeraVe has some of my favorites in this category. Skinfix has a 2% BHA I haven’t yet tried. Glow recipe has a great watermelon BHA PHA toner. I believe they also have a BHA serum I have not tried. I also really love CeraVe 2% BHA with AHA serum. I think the most important thing to ask based on the picture you uploaded of your forehead is if you’re using any conditioner or hair products that are comedogenic. You may have pomade acne in which case you’d just need to change how you do your hair routine.

I have a dry to combination skin type that is sensitive and acne prone. I struggled for over a decade even with the help of dermatologists. I feel your sister's pain. The advice provided here in this forum will be varied and is also dependent on how bad and what type of acne she has. For cleansingTry something with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. These can be drying but are less so when used a cleanser since it’s not on your skin all day.CeraVe makes an excellent cleansers with both of these ingredients at very reasonable price points. Right now at Sephora, skinfix offers a similar 2% salicylic acid wash.Protip: Benzoyl peroxide bleaches items so use white cloths and sheets. If a cleanser is not enough.. Toners and serums with BHA (salicylic acid), PHA, and AHA’s are good options. The most hydrating in my opinion is glow recipe watermelon toner with BHA and PHA. Skin 1004 pore tight is an excellent toner with PHA and willow bark BHA that is totally free of fragrance and super gentle at a more reasonable price point that is not sold at Sephora.I use and recommend either of these Serums CeraVe does a BHA AHA serum that is great but if overused can dry a little. This can be offset by using once a week or every other day until her skin adjusts to the exfoliation from this product. Sunday Riley’s good genes 5% AHA lactic acid serum is a cult fave at Sephora. Personally my skin has adjusted over time to the drying and exfoliating effects of acids that help treat acne; so my favorite is drunk elephants protini 10% AHA lactic acid serum. Like the CeraVe serum she may need to use sparingly and start slow. I have not tried it personally but for an in between price point glow recipe has a BHA serum.Moisturizers If she dry she wants something that’s more oily this comes with the con that many oils and emulsifiers are comedogenic. Pacifica does some great ones like dreamyyouth peptide and vegan ceramide at much better price point than what you can find at Sephora. For whatever reason Sephora stopped selling this brand though. Hero rescue balms are excellent at a great price point too. At Sephora my favorites are the drunk elephant protini and their ceramide moisturizer. DE moisturizers are not totally free of comedogenic ingredients though, they claim it is formulated in such a way that it’s not comedogenic. As much as I love drunk elephant and other Sephora products I’ve found that shopping outside of Sephora has met my acne needs better saved me quite a bit of money. Also an important note you should always wear sunscreen but it is especially important when using acids. Be careful with any makeup you may use too as these can be irritating and comedogenic.

If your acne is hormonal it won’t just go away. Your acne will cycle through according to your hormonal cycle. The best you can do without a dermatologist is try to help your skin recover from the damage and minimize how long the acne lasts for if possible. For hormonal acne a doctor’s help is needed. In the meantime keep your skin hydrated. Since you have oily skin stay away from occlusives and exfoliate regularly with combination products (something with BHA and AHA). Wear sunscreen daily when the sun is out. Also pimple patches are your friend. I like the #PeaceOutEarlyStageAcneDot which are great for when the acne is just starting to form or it’s under the skin surface and you can feel the bump.

Hi everyone! I’m in my early 20’s and I’ve been struggling a lot with acne specifically around my chin area and between my eyebrows. I have tried so many things but I’m very sensitive, have very dry skin, and I’m very acne prone. I need help with products recommendations to try a new routine. I’m looking for a good cleanser, serum, spot treatment, moisturizer etc that will help either clear my skin up or even something that won’t further my acne. Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
