@MoonLitpreppy03 Have you asked the doctor who prescribed your tretinoin? Tret’s a good acne treatment on its own. Adding something like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to your routine would depend on how your skin handles either of those things paired with tretinoin. If you need something to help with dark marks left by acne, azelaic acid’s a good choice. That ingredient also targets acne, and it plays nice with retinoids (tretinoin, retinaldehyde, retinol, adapalene, etc.). If you’re in the US, your doc can prescribe 15-20% strength azelaic acid. Or you can try over-the-counter 10% strength, which is what I currently use. My favorite is Paula's Choice 10% Azelaic Acid Booster 1 oz/ 30 mL (it also contains salicylic acid), but I also like Peach Slices Redness Relief Azelaic Acid Serum. A less expensive option is The INKEY List SuperSolutions 10% Azelaic Serum Redness Relief Solution 1 oz / 30 mL . Note that azelaic acid can make your skin itchy, depending on how sensitive your skin is. It took my skin about a month to adapt to azelaic acid with no more itchiness.

Whenever I get a breakout, this is what I use: 1st day: Hero Pimple Patch(This really sucks up all the puss in the pimple/pimples) 2nd day: CVS Targeted Acne Spot Treatment(It’s really cheap and works wonders to heal the breakout!) Then I just apply The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to reduce redness (I know it’s for oil control but it also in my case reduces the redness and inflammation). I just keep applying it until the redness is very minor. This is just what works for me!

@cethats Caveat: there’s no brand whose entire product line I can use. And we don’t all have the same skin type/behavior, condition, needs, sensitivity, or allergy; these things can rule out entire brands for my particular skin. With that outta the way, my favorite Sephora-carried skincare brands are Paula’s Choice, The Ordinary, and The Inkey List.

Hello! Since your posting in the acne group, I'm assuming you have some acne haha! Don't we all. Here is one of my favorite tips for some stubborn acne! Wash your face with a gentle cleanser. On the acne spots, do not put anything else. No serum, moisturizer, toner, anything. You can put your normal skincare on the rest of your face 🙂 At night, put pimple patches on them. In the morning, peel them off then put aquaphor healing ointment on the spots. Repeat for a few days and you should start to see it heal within a bit. Biggest tip, DONT PICK! Good luck!Ps, I've linked a few products for you below🙃

I used to have the same problems for body acne use the ordinary Glycolic acid, I replace the top with a spray cap and after every workout or shower I spray it, it also helps with discoloration and odor, so it’s multipurpose, for oily and acne prone skin, Salicylic Acid along with a niacinimide also really helps with my skin, also trying a makeup press powder with a powder puff also helps a lot with oily skin, along with a acne spot treatment, also wash and moisturize ur face 2x a day.

I saw on TikTok (lol) that you can use anti fungal, athletes foot cream to help. I recently started using it but it hasn’t been long enough to make a difference. If it’s fungal acne, the anti fungal can help!
