Serum Recommendations

I’m looking to try a new AHA serum. Something that won’t be completely drying, but will help fight signs of aging/large pores on acne-prone skin. I’m in my late 20’s for reference. Any recommendations??

try the lactic acid serum from The Ordinary. it has hyaluronic acid so it won't be as drying. lactic acid is not as strong as glycolic, but it's better for acne. and it's super affordable!

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% Exfoliating Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL

Re: Serum Recommendations

Try the farmacy honey moon glow serum! It's super effective and smells really good too! FARMACY - HONEYMOON GLOW AHA Resurfacing Night Serum with Hydrating Honey + Gentle Flower Acids

Re: Serum Recommendations

@NicDe I really like the Paula's Choice AHA.  I got a sample of the 5% and tolerated it really well, so I went onto the 8% and have been loving it.  They also have a 10 percent, I believe.  Alpha Skin Care also has an assortment of concentrations, and are very affordable.

You might want to look into BHA for acne-prone skin, though.  BHA can penetrate into the pores where AHA is more for the surface, and for anti-aging/sun damage.  The only BHA I like is Paula's Choice.  It comes in 1, 2, 4 and 9%.  I bought the 2% and loved it so much I moved onto the 9% and never looked back.  It's been amazing for me.  Good luck!  🙂

Re: Serum Recommendations

@NicDe My favorite is the FARMACY - HONEYMOON GLOW AHA Resurfacing Night Serum with Hydrating Honey + Gentle Flower Acids! The honeyadd makes it more gentle than some others in the drying department IMO and the AHA/BHA acid % is higher than the Good Genes or the Framboos and at a better price point. If you haven't tried a serum like this I would definitely go with the FAB serum or radiance peel pads or The Ordinary's glycolic toner as they are gentler products that would be better as a starting place

@NicDe  I really like

DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum

Re: Serum Recommendations

I second the DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum!

Re: Serum Recommendations

@NicDe

I use FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Skin Lab Resurfacing Liquid 10% AHA. It contains 4 AHAs (glycolic, lactic, tartaric, and malic) plus hydrating/moisturizing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, aloe, and ceramides. It’s not drying at all on my mostly-dry combo skin, and it doesn’t make my oily zone feel greasy. I’m 20something years older than you, but this leave-on exfoliant’s been great for my skin.
