Layering serum

I am someone who is new to skincare, and just started a routine as a new year resolution! I was wondering if thereโ€™s like a hard rule on how to layer serums or should I ask the questions with my whole routine.

Re: Layering serum

@acquaro @Rule of thumb is to apply thin to thicker products. If you donโ€™t know which one to apply first apply them to your arm and see which drips down first.

Re: Layering serum

Hi @acquaro great question!

There are some tips and tricks to layering your skincare so it's the most effective for you.  If your products are pilling (rubbing off) that's just ingredients that don't get along in the same and routine.  Some important points are things like keeping your Retinols to night time,  using Vitamin C in the day, where to put SPF vs Primer, and more.  It can seem like alot at first but it gets easier.  There's alot of info online you can read ๐Ÿ“š

But what is your skin care routine?

A basic one would be:

Wash,Toner,Serum or Essence,Moisturizer, Spf for day time ๐Ÿ˜‰

A great routine is Wash,Moisturize,SPF, it's all you need. But adding targeted serums to suit your skin care goals is pretty fun and adventurous ๐Ÿ’•

So another important question, is what do you want your skin care to do for you? And then it's just choosing products to help you reach your goals.

I hope this was helpful ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Layering serum

I currently use these products in this order

-only night time: Clinique take the day off cleansing balm

- MAD salicylic cleansing gel

- glow recipe pore tight toner

- glossier super pure niacinamide + zinc serum

- glow recipe watermelon glow pink juice moisturizer (trying it out bc I used to use the farmacy honey halo)

-only Day time: Tula skincare protect + glow sunscreen

Re: Layering serum

Those all sound great @acquaro

Niacinamide is an ingredient I really enjoy in my skin care,  it's got some solid benefits. Your routine sounds awesome.
