Advice for acne prone skin

I have combination, acne prone skin, and am looking for recommendations for what type of routine I should have and specific products to include in my routine to get a clear face

RE: Advice for acne prone skin

Your basic routine should include a cleanser, a moisturizer, and a sunscreen. In addition to this, since your main concern is acne, you should conservatively include serums and creams that target the causes of acne as well as active spots. Common ingredients that are used to treat acne are salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. For me, personally, I receive these ingredients for my acne prone skin through my cleanser (Clinique Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam) and an individual benzoyl peroxide lotion (Clinique Acne Solutions All-Over Clearing Treatment). This is a 3-step line offered by Clinique, but I only use 2 of the steps. The 2nd step which I do not use is an AHA exfoliant which is excellent and promotes cell turnover (though you may experience a purging period where all your existing acne is brought to the surface). In general, I would say introduce these products gradually and be sure to moisturize as they can be quite harsh if your skin isn’t used to them.
