what are the best ways to prevent acne?

@yessireerr,acne can occur for a wide variety of reasons (ones I can think of product irritation, oil overproduction, fungal, hormonal - but there's more), so I would think more along the lines of supporting your skin.

Eat a nutrient dense, balanced diet.

Remove all products before going to sleep.
A gentle cleanser and the right moisturizer (gel if oily, cream if dry)

Hydrate!

Gentle exfoliation.

Don't over do it with treatments, sometimes drying out the acne will cause more acne.

Work you way up with actives (retinoids, peels, etc)

Blue light therapy can be useful.

Don't introduce too many products into a skincare routine at one time.

Give your routine time to work.
