Re: Acne

Hi @ArchnaThakur ! Couple questions:

  1. What’s your current skincare routine (brands + product names)?
  2. What (if any) acne products/ingredients have you already tried? Example: have you tried salicylic acid (BHA)?
  3. Have you seen a board certified dermatologist or primary care doctor about your acne?

A doctor, especially a dermatologist, can diagnose your skin and recommend personalized treatment options. Different types of acne respond to different ingredients and treatments, and there are skin conditions that mimic acne.

Most of us on BIC will recommend things like BHA, azelaic acid, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, and vitamin A (the retinoid family, including tretinoin, retinol, retinal, adapalene). A doc might also recommend those—but a doc can also figure out if you even have acne in the first place (and which type it is) vs. a different skin condition that looks like acne.
