Acne after stopping birth control

I recently stopped taking birth control in November 2018 and have been struggling with acne ever since. Before birth control I had never really had acne and now find myself confused on what skin products to use. Typically my skin has always been dry to normal but now I am a mix of combination dry and oily. I have acne all over both of my cheeks and occasionally on my forehead and near my temples. The texture of my skin has completely changed as well.

Most comments I've read about hormonal acne after stopping birth control tend to focus on areas such as the lower jaw and chin so I'm not sure if the acne I have is even hormonal or not. If anyone has advice on what products I should try, it would be much appreciated!!

Re: Acne after stopping birth control

@Becs27 acne can be common when stopping BC. Yes, hormonal tends to show up in the chin, but it's not limited to there. Ask your doctor/derm/obgyn about spironolactone. It's a pill (not BC) that regulates oil, which helps acne.

Your hormones are still balancing out, hence the different skin type.
