Gel vs. Cream moisturizer

Which do you prefer, a cream or a gel moisturizer? Is one type generally better for oily skin vs. dry skin?

I️ like gel moisturizers better. I️ feel like cream ones sit on my skin for so long and get super greasy. Currently using Tarte’s drink of H2O and I️ LOVE it.

Hi. I actually like both, but my go-to is cream. I feel it is more hydrating and provides more for my skin. I think PTR’s Cloud Gel Cream is a nice hybrid! I have combination, sensitive skin with occasion breakouts. Hope that helps.

gel or "foamy/soapy" cleansers are better for oily skin....

gel or "foamy/soapy" cleansers are better for oily skin. the foamy ones will dry out your skin more thats why they shouldn't be used on dry skin because it'll make your skin feel tight and too dry.

Combo to dry. Just really depends on the weather! If you have time go ahead and look it up! It has really good reviews.

@bakeamuffin I love that your getting into your skin so much more!!!! During the day, I use dry oil. I’m currently using Vintner’s Daughter and it has me hooked! At night, I don’t care how greasy my skin is so I use the Amore Pacific moisturizer after my Luna and Good Genes. I would definitely recommend something like the Belif Moisture Bomb for you after your Luna and GG when you start using it. AP is expensive but I’ve fallen in love with their line. Belif has soooo many amazing reviews when it comes to straigh moisturizing. If I’m correct, you’re more dry so that would be great for day as well. ❤️❤️❤️

@bakeamuffin Here, on Sephora! They also have the Aqua Bomb but that’s for more oily skin types. But...it would be great for daytime during the hot summer months. Also, the Clarisonic is on QVC for 5 monthly payments! It would be about $20/month. I promise you, your skin will thank you! ❤️❤️❤️

I like the feel of gel and balm moisturizers much better than creams, but I try to just buy things that work and let texture be a tiebreaker. Sort of like how if there is ever a foam cleanser that magically won't dry me out, I'll be all over that!

@GG84 what a heartbreak!! I feel like there’s so much I’m missing out on that isn’t offered on the Canadian site. I’m looking at Tidal by Sunday Riley, lala retrocwhipped cream by drunk elephant, lotus youth preserve by fresh, and Laneige water bank and I’m not sure which would best compare to moisture bomb

@bakeamuffin Tidal wouldnt because Tidal is an Enzyme cream that exfoliates, It's hard not knowing the texture and consistency of moisture bomb, Not to throw another option into the mix but Dr Jart Water Fuse might be close based on what i read and maybe Lala?
