100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

Day 1: ColourPop Liquid Lipstick in Tulle

This looks much lighter in the tube, so I'm always surprised by how dark it is. Application is a little patchy, but it lasted probably 6-7 hours.

Ooh great idea! Now that it’s August this is a good transition period in to fall. We can see how our shade choices change as the weather starts to turn, while forcing us to shop our collections and remember what’s there. I’ll start my 100 days tomorrow since it’s the end of the day now.

Oh, wow! I would love your haul! I have about 30 lipsticks and I wear them on a pretty regular rotation. What an amazing idea though!

@Freyabell About half of them are mini ones, so I’m only half crazy? I definitely feel more inclined to buy lipsticks when I can get multiple shades for the price of 1, which has lead to this over abundance of lippies. That’s awesome you regularly rotate through your stash; it’s the smart thing to do.

@Kim888 Even if you don’t have 100, you should totally participate if you want to do a different lipstick everyday and go through your collection (that’s really the point of it). I’m a little daunted by the prospect of doing this, but I think it’ll be a lot of fun.

I wasn’t able to grab a pic, but for Day 1 I wore Nars Jungle Red. This is one of my favorite everyday reds! It feels like a “casual red,” if that makes sense? I can wear it with a jean jacket and sneakers (which I did today!) and it’s not too fancy or out of place. It’ll pull an outfit together and take you from lunchtime to the taphouse (which I also did today...).
