Hello! I need help! I recently went blonde from my natural, virgin light brown hair color. My color immediately looked amazing, the perfect platinum ashy blonde color with no yellow tint whatsoever! Well after my first shampoo using Oribe Bright Blonde purple shampoo/conditioner, it already turned into more of a pale yellow blonde color. It looks okay but I really LOVED that ashy color. I went back to have it toned the next week and it looked great again but same thing happened, after even letting the purple shampoo sit for a while. Attached a photo of the color I’m wanting to maintain. Any tips or products that you recommend trying out to maintain the ashy cool blonde color without any yellow or brassy tones? Even if it’s not from Sephora, it’s fine...I’m desperate haha

@Anonymous

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE that color! I have always wanted to go plantinum but I’m too chicken to try it😬

I have blonde hair and I like to use a product I pick up from my salon that is also sold on Amazon. It’s called Evo Fabuloso. I like to use it as sort of a mask once a week and leave it on for a good 5-10 minutes in the shower. I also have one called Fanola No Yellow Shampoo that can also be found on Amazon and I use pretty much the same way. I put it on freshly shampooed hair and let it sit for a few minutes before I wash it off. I have had success from both these products so I recommend you check them out online and see if those are what you aren’t looking for.

I would also suggested this shampoo and conditioner as well as IGK's Mixed Feelings leave in blonde toning drops 💜 Both work great for my ash blonde dyed hair!
The problem is the toner is washing out too fast! That’s a common issue being an ashy/platinum blonde... try washing your hair less... like 2x a week if you can! Oribe is a high end Line so I’m surprised to hear that it’s not doing much for you! But I saw that someone recommended the Amika bust your brass, that’s a really good one too!

First, you need to find out why the toner used a washing out so fast. Because it shouldn’t be. There are a number of reasons for this; hair isn’t demineralized before applying toner and it’s kicking the toner out, could be your water at home, hair could have become too porous to retain toner and needs to be “filled” and sealed in, buying shampoo/conditioner on amazon instead of through your stylist (way too much counterfeit products sold on amazon with no regulations that look just like the real thing and if it is the real thing they are diverted often by way of being old expired, stolen, by-backs, etc and supporting that activity which is why no professional brand will guarantee their products bought off amazon or grocery store.) Good luck.

@Anonymousm,

Your hair looks great! My hair is lifted about 3 levels and I find that it takes a lot of work to keep it toned. I recommend the Amika Bust Your Brass Violet Leave-In Treatment which you use on damp hair before you air dry it or blow dry.

https://www.sephora.com/product/bust-your-brass-violet-leave-in-foam-P431720?skuId=2069193&keyword=amika%20blonde%20foam

Kerastase also just came out with a line for platinum hair!

It’s pretty old-school, but Clairol Shimmering Lights is a super pigmented toning shampoo/conditioner. You have to be careful to distribute it evenly when you first apply it to your hair, and only use it when you need it. Like once a week. If you use it too often, your hair will be lavender. And if you slap it on in one spot before your work it through, that spot will be a little brighter than the rest. I also like dpHue cool blonde shampoo + conditioner for a more high-end option. But Shimmering Lights will cool down the yellow no doubt. It looks like ink out of the bottle. Your hair is gorgeous! Beautiful cut!
