While I try to recommend items sold at Sephora as this is a Sephora community, I do have a great recommendation for your hair. It’s not a brand well known however it has been around FOREVER and is absolutely hair changing. This one product just blows my mind and spreads so well in the hair. Check out Tri Design Keratin Amino Intense Repair. I’m a stylist, trust me your hair will thank you.

@JennAshleywuby

Pricey but I have started using <LI-PRODUCT title="OLAPLEX - Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 " id="P428224_2033264"></LI-PRODUCT>

and it is doing beautiful things to my hair. Also, I am using <LI-PRODUCT title="CHRISTOPHE ROBIN - Regenerating Mask with Rare Prickly Pear Seed Oil" id="P401454_1747377"></LI-PRODUCT> and it is wonderfully moisturizing. Again, not cheap. My hair is wavy and to my armpits. It used to be frizzy with dry ends until I started these. I also switched my shampoo to <LI-PRODUCT title="OLAPLEX - No. 4 Bond Maintenance™ Shampoo" id="P433172_2118867"></LI-PRODUCT>

which is way nicer on my hair than the salon stuff I was using.

i have thin, curly/wavy but also dry hair. so some difference but perhaps the key element (dry) is the same. my hair routine lately has been working quite well for me, so i'll just relay what i'm doing in case any of these things sound good:

once or twice a month i do the <LI-PRODUCT title="OLAPLEX - Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3" id="P428224_2033264"></LI-PRODUCT> treatment. this isn't a conditioner per se, but a treatment (use on wet hair BEFORE shampooing, shampoo out and then do conditioner). on damp (not soaking wet) hair i'll apply about a chickpea size amount of the <LI-PRODUCT title="OLAPLEX - No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme" id="P441831_2200095"></LI-PRODUCT>-- and i use this as needed on dry hair, a small amount primarily on my ends. what i've noticed about these two olaplex products is they make my long hair look like i've been getting proper trims when, in face, i haven't been. they're bond correctors, which can help with damaged ends.

as far as moisture goes, i'm a big fan of devacurl. you don't have to have curly hair to use the products. i use a pump of the <LI-PRODUCT title="DEVACURL - SUPERCREAM® Coconut Curl Styler" id="P399687_1737311"></LI-PRODUCT>on soaking wet hair, right out of the shower. this locks in the moisture. i adore their hair conditioning mask too , which i tend to use as my regular conditioner, though i wash my hair less frequently than you do, it's the <LI-PRODUCT title="DEVACURL - Melt into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask" id="P421495_1977156"></LI-PRODUCT>

i'd also look into getting an SLS-free shampoo. there are loads on the market now.

i know this isn't a cheap solution, but i find most of these products last me a while, and i'm actually spending less on hair care because i'm not buying a bunch of stuff trying to find things that'll 'fix' my hair anymore. hope this is helpful !

I really like Kevin Murphy's Hydrate-Me Rinse for daily use. I've tried a gazillion conditioners but this one is really hydrating. You can get it in an econo-size and it's pretty affordable that way. If your hair is damaged at the ends though, you'll need to trim it.

I also have thick, frizzy hair and two products stand out in my mind as things that have helped me tame it:

<LI-PRODUCT title="AMIKA - Soulfood Nourishing Mask" id="P404916_2035079"></LI-PRODUCT>: My hair has never been as soft as it is when using this mask. It's seriously a game-changer. I got it as a Play! sample and the very next Sephora order I made included the full size.

<LI-PRODUCT title="ALTERNA HAIRCARE - CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Replenishing Moisture Conditioner" id="P269706_1772383"></LI-PRODUCT>and <LI-PRODUCT title="ALTERNA HAIRCARE - CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Replenishing Moisture Shampoo" id="P269705_1772375"></LI-PRODUCT>: I also got these as Play! samples, though this was a long time ago. Maybe in my first few boxes last year. I have yet to buy the full sizes because I have a ton of other shampoos and conditioners I'm trying to get through but I swear they made my hair smell amazing for DAYS after I washed it. My boyfriend got sick of me talking about how good my hair smelled, lol. And they left my hair extremely soft and shiny.

I second this - my hair loves it! It seems expensive, but I find it's very concentrated and you don't have to use as much as you would with other shampoos/conditioners.

Besides that, I've found using <LI-PRODUCT title="OLAPLEX - No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme" id="P441831_2200095"></LI-PRODUCT>as a leave-in has really helped my hair, too.

DEFINITELY the deva curl conditioner for wavy hair. If it's frizzy then maybe switching or stop using shampoo.

<LI-PRODUCT title="DEVACURL - No-Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser" id="P378324_1784578"></LI-PRODUCT>

@JennAshleywuby I also have curly/frizzy hair and find when it's healthiest that's when it does the best frizz-wise. At sephora I have had good results with some Devacurl products (especially the deep conditioner, once a week when my hair got super dry in the winter), Olaplex 3 for making it stronger/ damage repair (but not moisturizing), and Living Proof's Perfect hair day.

I love Aveda's products and I keep going back to them personally, but that is 100% because I am in love with the way they smell. I love their branding and commitment to sustainability and being good to the environment but if I'm honest if they didn't smell how they do I'd be far more likely to stray from the brand. I use the curly shampoo and the curly co-wash. I don't use their curly conditioner since it's too much for me, and the co-wash gives my hair the perfect healthy silky-soft texture without overdoing it with a moisturizing treatment and damage repair treatment here or there as I need it. The only styling products I use are the curly style-prep and the phomollient foam but before that I used Biore's leave-in conditioner (frequently on sale at ulta and JCP) and a firm hold gel or curl mousse from herbal essences that worked as well with essentially the same effect

The most important thing is finding a gentle shampoo that still leaves some moisture in your hair, paying attention to the ends of your hair past your scalp- where it gets driest. Damage repairing treatments are great for making hair healthier but they won't give the softness/texture you may be looking for- that will come from a moisturizing treatment or conditioner. For me, over conditioning leads to tangles and roughness and it feels like it does when it's dry- so it can get hard for me to tell what my hair needs. When in doubt I keep shampooing until the foaming gets way out of control (Super foamy shampoo= no oils left) and then I apply conditioner, so I'm sure of the level of oils/moisturizers in my hair
