I use living proof restore. I also really like the Amika: the kure or soul food for deep moisture. I do like Camille rose and alikay naturals products as well. I haven't tried either of their shampoos but have tried their leave in conditioners.

My go to shampoo and conditioner I use is Maui Moisture Curl Quench & Coconut Oil shampoo and conditioner. It’s my holy grail! I also use their curling cream too. I’m obsessed and I’ve been using it non stop for a year and a half. Makes my hair feel moisturized, looks amazing and shines beautifully

There are many shampoos that are great for kinky hair. You just have to try them and find the ones that work for you. I personally don’t like black soap on my hair because it leaves soap scum residue and makes my hair feel hard. Black soap is a bar type soap that is watered down to make shampoo. I also don’t like coconut surfactant based shampoo for the same reason. FYI coconut is traditionally used to make bar soap and is not usually a shampoo with coconut oil in it. So most coconut shampoos are just watered down bar soap.

My hair is thin, fine, type 4. My hair loves any moisturizing shampoo or anti aging. Cream of nature is a favorite. The amika, And bumble and bumble worked good too.

@MemphisBarbie “The best” depends on your hair and scalp. 🙂 Example: for many folks, honey is a great humectant ingredient in hair products. But for me, it’s terrible: in the shower, it makes my hair feel buttery soft but also super tangled; once I’m out of water, it lets too much hydration escape my hair, leaving it very dry.

I cycle through various shampoos and don’t have a favorite. For me, it’s less about which shampoos work best on my kinky coily hair and more about what shampoos won’t irritate my scalp. I’m currently working through a bottle of OGX Coconut Miracle Oil shampoo and it’s surprisingly not too drying for me, considering its ingredients. I still have half a bottle of Bumble & Bumble BB Curl shampoo to use up; I don’t hate it but I won’t repurchase it. I like to use Olaplex No. 4 shampoo (along with at least one other Olaplex product) after I’ve used products or styling techniques that stretched/loosened my curls. Soon I’ll bring a new-to-me Briogeo shampoo into rotation and see how it fares. I’d love to find a dry shampoo that works well for me; that’d be great on workout days.

I generally don’t like “cowashes” or “cleansing conditioners” in place of shampoos. They rarely clean my scalp at all, let alone my hair. And I hate the DevaCurl No-Poo and Low-Poo shampoos.

I do have a favorite conditioner: SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus conditioner. That’s the only SheaMoisture product that’s consistently worked great for me for years, despite reformulations. My hair loves that stuff so much, I also use it as my leave-in conditioner.

As for other products: I try to keep my hair routine simple. I wear my hair in its natural state, so I’m a wash & go girl—and I really wanna wash (and condition, of course) and GO 😂, not spend hours on my hair each time I wash it. Aside from a leave-in conditioner, I’m really liking the Olaplex bonding oil I recently bought. I don’t need to use much of it (using too much weighs down my coils), and it plays nicer with my leave-in than the Olaplex styling cream which flakes a lot sometimes. Between washes, I sometimes scrunch in Camille Rose Fresh Curl to refresh my coils as needed.

I am currently rotating through two shampoos from Klorane: Purifying and Strengthening/Revitalizing, and I'm rotating through two masks: The Body Shop Banana Nourishing Hair Mask and a sample of the <LI-PRODUCT title="BRIOGEO - Don't Despair, Repair!™ Deep Conditioning Mask" id="P388628_1784636"></LI-PRODUCT>.

After I wash my hair, I use the LOC method. I'm currently using a leave-in conditioner with JBCO that I found at TJ Maxx, Mielle Mint Almond Oil, and <LI-PRODUCT title="QHEMET BIOLOGICS - Burdock Root Butter Cream" id="P398119_1730951"></LI-PRODUCT> to lock in the moisture until the next wash day.

Hi @MemphisBarbie I have somewhat course curly hair and I’ve found over the years that it’s more the leave in styling products that help tame my hair then the shampoo and conditioner that I wash out. Of course you don’t want to use any drying shampoo but that goes without saying right?

So after washing my hair I sometimes use a light detangler and always use a balm type leave in

by Schwarzkopf called BC rescue repair sealed ends. It has a gathering effect and creates sections of hair that form into smooth gathered curls. It’s a salon brand but amazon has it. Then I pay on a light mousse from the same brand called Osis grip

The haircare brand product I have found at Sephora that I like for my hair type is Living Proof

All of it is great I especially like for day 2 RE styling their “ perfect day styling treatment”

https://m.sephora.com/brand/living-proof/all

ps I never put oil products on my hair. I Have found it to coat each hair shaft separately and then creates a complete frizz ball
