Does anyone have hair oil recommendations for medium, damaged hair? Also, do I put hair oil in before or after I wash my hair?

@mayalove33 @I use hair oil before I wash my hair. I even use from time to time. I also use hair oil after I wash my hair.

@mayalove33 My hair is different than yours, but I use a different oil as a prewash vs after washing. Prewash, I will use a "pure" oil such as oil, and use a lighter oil or serum post-wash that is specifically designed as a leave in, such as .

Other prewash oils include and #Fable & Mane Healthy Hair Heroes Pre-wash Oil (I have not tried this one). Some oils that you can buy in the grocery are also suitable as a pre-wash; there are articles online about which are best for different hair types.

@mayalove33 I also have medium damaged hair and my favorite hair oils that I have used are and the I know these hair oils are more on the pricey side but trust me they are worth every penny🙏 also make sure to apply the hair oil after your shower, I do it before and after I style my hair! Hope this helps!😁

Did anyone try the Haitian black castor oil? I've recently bought one via kreyol essence customer service and I like it a lot! This is best hair oil I've ever used. It is sulfate, paraben, SLS + SLES, and gluten free. And it works great for my damaged hair.

I have two plus a treatment that might help you. So there’s a hair oil that I LOVE LOVE LOVEE it’s not a Sephora product but it’s called ogx moroccan and argan oil. And the olaplex oil. The treatment is the Moroccan oil brand one. It made my hair so shiny and silky.

These all made my damaged hair so much better. Hope this helps!!🫶

Before I wash my hair, I use the Mielle light rosemary oil on my scalp and pure almond oil on my ends (both ~$10 on Amazon) and let it sit in a bun for 2-4 hours. In the shower, I use the Sephora scalp scrub before shampooing to get rid of any excess oil and keep my scalp from getting greasy, and I try to do a hair mask in the shower every two weeks (Amika has some great ones!), which is great for damage, and after I finish showering I use Amika Hydro Rush leave-in conditioner, CHI heat protectant, and Olaplex No. 7. I've been doing this for about 5 months and my hair feels super soft and is growing like crazy!
