Opinions Wanted: Your Go-To Niche Fragrances

I hear a lot of chatter in the community about various fragrance brands and formats. It seems that niche fragrances are becoming a hot topic and I'm loving all the brands I learn about from you all!

We want to celebrate these smaller brands that are truly unique and give you that artisanal, fancy feeling or that sassy, Friday night feeling 😉

What is your favorite "niche" fragrance brand at Sephora? What about your favorite scent? Don't forget to tell us why!

At Sephora, my favorite niche fragrances are either Maison Margiela Replica Beach Walk or Lipstick On or Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey. ❤️

My all time favorite niche fragrance is Byredo Mojave Ghost. I really wish Sephora would carry this brand. ❤️

@KatieBT - My favorite niche fragrances I've tried that Sephora carries are Clean Reserve Skin, Maison Margiela Replica By the Fireplace, Jo Malone Wild Bluebell, Wood Sage & Sea Salt, and Blackberry & Bay. I thought Commodity Velvet was unique for them, and I do like Moss. I just find that they don't smell the best on me. I tried Pinrose's scents, but none of them grabbed me, but I do need to try fragrances from Juliette Has a Gun, which I haven't delved into yet.

My favorites that Sephora doesn't carry are Diptyque Philosykos (summer signature) and Eau Duelle. Also, Byredo Gypsy Water.

EDIT: I also really like Annick Goutal's Eau d'Hadrien. It's a very light citrus/herbal scent with a touch of powder. The brand has many more fragrances I'd like to try.

As a bonus, their bottles are beautiful!

@KatieBT Without a doubt my favorite Sephora niche fragrance is Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume. It has such a soft, cozy scent that lasts a long time. It gives me the same kind of feeling I get when I slip into my bed that has fluffy, clean flannel sheets on it. It's very relaxing.

My favorite fragrance ever is amazing grace. I’ve been wearing it for 15 years and get compliments every day. I first discovered it at Sephora and have been hooked ever since.

I recently redeemed my points for a selection of Amazing Grace products and thought they smelled lovely too! They smell fresh and clean with just the right amount of floral. Have you tried the candle?

Of the perfumes Sephora carries, I like Commodity Gold and Book.

Of the ones not found here, I like Le Labo Rose 31, Byredo Blanche, and Roads Cloud 9 and Neon.

@Anonymous I know how you feel! Everytime I wear Amazing Grace or Pure Grace, I always get compliments!! Amazing Grace and L'occitane Lemon Verbena are my go to fragrances. Amazing Grace because it's so clean smelling and Lemon Verbena, also for the fresh, clean scent. They were the only 2 I ever found that didn't bother mine and hubby's allergies!!

Nest Black Tulip! Great balance of floral, warm and sweet - it hits all the right notes for me.

I stockpile the minis like a squirrel prepping for winter every time there's a 100pt reward. I have easily a full size bottle's worth of mini rollerballs!

I was introduced to Ateliers Tuberose cafe last year and have gone on to enjoy Clementine California.

jo Malone English pear and freesia

Ellis Sci fi

These are the niche scents that I adore.

Sephora now carries so many brands I have fallen in love with: Jo Malone (honestly there's a scent for every mood so I can't narrow it down to just one favorite!); Juliette Has a Gun (Midnight Oud); Kilian (Voulez-vous Couchez Avec Moi); Derek Lam 10 Crosby (Blackout and 2AM Kiss); Commodity (I'm loving all of the Platinum Collection); and Maison Margiela REPLICA (Beach Walk, By the Fireplace, and Jazz Club). I would love to see Diptyque and Byredo sold at Sephora next!

@KatieBT My current favourite is Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay. For a while I couldn't get enough of Maison Margiela Replica Funfair Evening, however sadly this scent is no longer available for purchase at Sephora. I'm always on the hunt for a new favorite!

My favourite niche brand at Sephora was Etat Libre d'Orange. Now it is probably Serge Lutens.

My favourite niche houses right now are Roja Dove, Frederic Malle, L'Artisan Parfumeur and some smaller houses like Mona di Orio, Nasomatto, etc. I don't think any of these would perform well at Sephora though!

I think Le Labo, Diptyque and Byredo would appeal to Sephora's customers. Plus they are well known and Instagram friendly. I see Creed mentioned a fair bit, which surprized me, but some BIC members like the house. Bond no.9 as well. 4160 Tuesdays could be fun, but I don't think they have the means to be sold through the store and I'm not sure they'd like to. Maybe Penhaligon's or Tauer?

My new favourite perfume from Sephora and Brand is Derek Lam 10 Crosby "Drunk on Youth" it's the perfect spring summer scent if like fruity floral perfumes. 😍💜🙌🏻
