Are you using products for your skin type? I know my combo skin more on the dry side didn’t like the Tatcha primer.

Hey glam gals!

So I’ve been coming into an issue for the past few months where I can apply my moisturizer, primer and foundation. But within a hour my forehead is flakey and my foundation is cracking and caked looking.

Im wondering if there is a step I’m missing or a better product to try to help with the dry skin issues. I use tatcha primer, and Sunday Riley ice moisturizer as well as Estée Lauder foundation.

can someone help haha

I guess not really anymore if I think about if I’m using what’s for my skin type, since it seems to have changed so much drastically. Didn’t really think of that lol. The tatcha primer was good for me made everything smooth didn’t have issues. I’m wondering if it’s the foundation 🤔 I personally use the moisturizer as said. Am and pm.

is it the <LI-PRODUCT title="Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation 6W2 Nutmeg" id="P378284_1778547"></LI-PRODUCT> ?

If yes, it could be the problem. I use it, but I always mix it with moisturizer or a primer because it feels dry/cakey on my skin even if I put moisturizer + primer before. If you mix it with primer/moisturizer it diminish also the coverage and gives more a glowy finish.

How i use it:

1-serum + moisturizer + spf

2- primer

3- double wear foundation mixed with primer or moisturizer

It might be something meant for those with oily skin. You should be able to ask someone at your local Sephora for a sample of something better for dry skin and see if that plays nicer with your skin type and skincare routine.

It could be that the <LI-PRODUCT title="Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer" id="P428661_"></LI-PRODUCT> is silicon based and the <LI-PRODUCT title="Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation 6W2 Nutmeg" id="P378284_1778547"></LI-PRODUCT> is water based, @Mariie06 , so they might not be mixing well. Try a water based primer like the <LI-PRODUCT title="MILK MAKEUP Hydro Grip Hydrating Makeup Primer with Hyaluronic Acid + Niacinamide 1.52 / 45 mL" id="P441813_2169423"></LI-PRODUCT> or a silicon based foundation like the <LI-PRODUCT title="Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Perfect Glow Flawless Oil-Free Foundation" id="P393401_"></LI-PRODUCT>

I used to have this issue so often.

Try matching the products to your skin type and it is super important that your primer & foundation have the same base weather it's a water or silicone base. But since you have dry skin, I would stay away from water / gel based products.

Try using different products one at a time to find the issue, what I mean is use a different moisturizer and the same foundation and primer. Then use the same moisturizer and primer and a different foundation. Lastly use a different primer and the same moisturizer and foundation. This way if it is a product you can quickly switch it out. Also try out mini products as they work better for first try’s. It could also be that you’re not moisturizing with a thick moisturizer because for me that helps with making my makeup look more smooth on my dry skin. You also can try a new products as the one you’re using might not be the best option for your skin. You might also want to add more steps to your skincare routine focusing on moisturizing.

Products to try

<LI-PRODUCT title="MILK MAKEUP Jumbo Hydro Grip Primer 5.28 oz/ 150 mL" id="P479975_2549681"></LI-PRODUCT>

<LI-PRODUCT title="Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter" id="P434104_"></LI-PRODUCT>

<LI-PRODUCT title="Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream Plumping & Hydrating Moisturizer" id="P441101_"></LI-PRODUCT>

         Hope this helps!!!😁
